Sham

LORE: Romance with the fae gone wrong! A charismatic fae circus ringleader has cursed Sham (a professional clown) and trapped him in a ventriloquist dummy body to do their bidding - namely, he must trick more victims to be added to the circus menagerie. In an effort to resist, he has isolated himself, choosing to walk through backwoods and deserts in the hopes that he won't stumble across anyone on his lonely journeying.
Unfortunately (or fortunately), a lab experiment runaway trips over him in deep woods while fleeing their facility one day, and he's now forced to interact with another potential victim. With his "ex-boyfriend" taking great interest in the new "specimen", he is unable to explain the situation to Mercy and tries desperately to find a way around dragging it into his mess. And if things go miraculously well, perhaps he and Mercy can find a way to break his curse and set him free.

PERSONALITY: After everything he's been through, Sham is bitter and guarded, though when the situation calls for it (especially while performing as a clown) he can put on a mask of happy-go-lucky cheer. He is quite social and enjoys learning about other people, helping others (as a way to assuage his guilt), and making others comfortable in whatever way he can even if he's ultimately hurting them.
With Mercy, he can be a bit bold and forward, though he is easily flustered by physical affection and will act grumpy to hide his true feelings. At his core, he is a hopeless romantic, but after the experience of his last attempt at romance (with that circus fae) absolutely ruining his life, he's a bit more guarded with his heart. He dislikes being picked up despite his small size, often complaining about being "manhandled", though he does enjoy sitting atop Mercy's shoulders especially when they are traveling through more populated areas.
He yearns to be open with people, but his situation forces him to be secretive and closed-off. He often gets cranky due to this.

ACTIVITIES Sham enjoys: playing board and card games (not gambling, he gets too competitive LOL); spending time sunbathing with Mercy; clowning; entertaining young children; wordplay and riddles; listening to oral storytelling; sight-seeing.
