Profile

The Skylark was prepared to house and train thousands of Spiral Order knights. To accomplish this, various Mecha Knights were constructed of varying qualities and capability, with the highest ranking ones being based on the combat data of long-passed knights of notable status. One of those knights, by the name of Relikkan, had a Mecha Knight constructed in his likeness, and was used to help train recruits in gunplay due to his near-legendary proficiency with firearms. Like all Mecha Knights, however, this machine had only the barest of "consciousness" beyond baseline programming and specialized, pre-recorded lines based on quotes that Relikkan provided before his passing.

After the Skylark crashed on Cradle, the Mecha Knight's storage container was thrown clear of the crash site. After a while, it was considered a lost asset, and a note was made to recreate it using the data they had in the computers... once they got those computers running, that is.

The plan changed dramatically when a Knight matching the Mecha Knight's description - and thus, Relikkan himself - found its way back with Scarlet Scout Rhendon, with nary an idea of what was going on. He seemed harmless enough, though his speech was fragmented and terse, as if he wasn't used to speaking Isoran, or even speaking at all.

When Rhendon and Kora took the knight to Feron to ask a few questions, they realized what had happened upon Relikkan accidentally pressing a button on his chestplate while saluting in an attempt to mimic his two friends. His chestplate opened much like a filing cabinet drawer, and present within was a Mecha Knight core, lightly punctured by a shard of Crimsonite, deep enough to allow Mist energy to seep in, but not enough to cause a volatile reaction... yet. The Crimsonite's innate emotional energy, combined with potentially unknown factors of where he landed, appeared to give the Mecha Knight a life all his own.

Due to the nature of this requiring far more knowledge of Cradle than they had, they allowed Relikkan a proper place as a Recruit, and the four decided to shelve questions like "how" or "why" until they had that knowledge, with Relikkan particularly requesting that the knowledge of his nature, believing that it'd grant him unwanted attention. For the ease of communication, Relikkan was given a wider variety of audio logs from his namesake to process in order to create a more stable voice bank for himself, and given more fine-tuning to ensure his reflexes were more comparable to a combat-ready Mecha Knight.

Over the course of his adventure, he began to amass a hardy arsenal of weapons and armors, each arranged to specialize in a particular kind of enemy, from slimes, to fiends, to fellow constructs. And each outfit is meticulously chosen to communicate this with a unified color scheme, something Bechamel seems to approve of greatly whenever he seeks the costume designer's business.
