Fletcher
Stats
Fletcher is a cheerful little Mais who always dreams big. Daydreaming is his way of coming up with new project ideas. He'll sometimes come up with the most ridiculous ideas, but, as long as he has the materials, he's willing to try!
He's a hard worker who isn't easily discouraged; he never gives up. Even if he fails a hundred times, he'll get up and try two hundred times more.
Fletcher works as a carpenter for a living and specializes in building structures and fixing things. His handiwork can be seen around his house, which he built from the ground up. Everything in his house is hand-made (foot-made?) with care.
He always tries to be brave, but, in reality, he's quite a scaredy cat. Sudden movements and sounds tend to make him jump. He's a little braver around friends, but that's only because his friends help dispel all the scary stuff.
His favorite food is bananas, but he'll also indulge in sweets when given the chance. If Humans visit the pond, he'll follow them around in hopes for a nibble or two of their food!
He is absolutely terrified of snakes, giant fish, and especially loud sounds.
Shoes are his ultimate enemy - or so he says. He will fight them.
Fletcher currently lives in the Mais Pond in a self-built weaved, twig house with his mate, Fei Yan, and his son, Covey.

- Bananas are his favorite food, he loves them even more in chip form.
- He will bite your shoes.
Nothing to see here!
Fletcher is a Mais, a small amphibious creature around the size of a poison dart frog. He has black sparkly eyes and has a full set of flowy betta fins - headfins, back fin, and tail fin. His pearly skin is soft and smooth to the touch; his markings consist of wavy white belly marks, leg socks, and spots over his eyes, back, and tail. He vocalizes with squeaks similar to a desert rain frog and is an excellent swimmer. His fins and webbed feet help him turn and dive with relative ease while swimming.
When he's working, he wears a toolbelt and carries tools that he made by himself. The toolbelt is made of tightly weaved dry grass and twine with a soft green leaf on the back for support (as not to damage his skin or fins!) It's tied at the front with a small rope and has a few knotted loops for holding tools. His hammer and knife are made of rock, sturdy sticks, and twine. The hammer is made of a smooth almost flat-edged rock, while the knife is made of a sharpened rock.
For accessories, he often wears feathers strung together with strings or his "bow and arrow" tail accessory, custom-made by Tokibi. The "bow and arrow" outfit consists of a wooden arrow design with darker brown stripes across the top of his tail with a trimmed rectangular dark brown and black feather, to resemble an arrow. It has a rounded base by the start of the tail with a large pearl set on both sides. Large feathers in varying shades of striped browns are attached to the tail accessory, four feathers on each side, and cover most of his tail. A single copper chain with two shiny pearls hang from the end of it. Fletcher wears a self-made copper chain necklace with one single large pearl and two smaller pearls to match.
Fletcher does not have any powers or special abilities!
Fletcher is a cheerful little Mais who always dreams big. He spends most of his time working, but, when he's not, he can be found floating around in the pond or lying in the grass, daydreaming as he watches the clouds and birds go by.
In fact, he's been working on his dream of flying for a long while now. Every failure brings him a little closer to that dream. He has successfully glided across the pond once.
Fletcher works as a carpenter for a living and specializes in building structures and fixing things. His handiwork can be seen around his house, which he built from the ground up. Everything in his house is hand-made (foot-made?) with care.
He's independent and prefers to do things on his own, but he's been allowing Covey to help out, to let his son learn a few things.
Fletcher is incredibly resourceful and uses any material leftovers possible. He'll create his own tools as needed. He uses thin wood splinters as sewing needles and keeps rocks in case his current tools break.
Nowadays, he leaves the exploring and collecting to his mate, Fei Yan, since she has a better eye for it, but he will sometimes join her and Covey on adventures. They collect feathers, colorful rocks, pearls, and anything else that could be used.
One of his main hobbies is crafting; his specialty is weaving. He collects grass and dries it. If he needs something stronger, he'll make some twine from plant stems. His crafts include tiny baskets, weaved mats, and accessories.
He always tries to be brave, but, in reality, he's quite a scaredy cat. Sudden movements and sounds tend to make him jump. He's a little braver around friends, but that's only because his friends help dispel all the scary stuff.
When scared, he'll run around in a panic, squeaking and often bumping into other Mais or objects.
Fletcher loves birds and other flying animals, especially Drasols. He doesn't own his own flying mount, so he rarely gets to experience flight. They are his main inspiration for his dream of flying.
On windy days, he loves to take a large leaf (or a piece of cloth) and go sailing across the pond waters.
His favorite food is bananas, but he'll also indulge in sweets when given the chance. Human food is pretty uncommon where he lives, so bananas are considered a special treat. A few bits of bananas is the quickest way to his heart. If Humans visit the pond, he'll follow them around in hopes for a nibble or two of their food!
He is absolutely terrified of snakes, giant fish, and especially loud sounds. Any loud sound is quick to put him on his toes or send him running. He'll wear earmuffs during firework shows or other loud events.
Shoes are his ultimate enemy - or so he says. He will attack them despite his tiny size, but he can't inflict any damage. Flip-flops are okay and spared his wrath, though. (Also because he doesn't want to accidentally bite toes.)

Fletcher lives at the Mais Pond in a cozy weaved, twig house by the water. His house is self-built through days upon days of hard work and has been rennovated a few times. It's made entirely out of twigs and leaves bound together by some twine and has a few open windows. The windows have leaves as curtains. At the front door is a tiny weaved "welcome" mat. He trusts that his neighbors at the pond won't try to steal it and just leaves it sitting out there all the time (unless it's raining hard!)
The house has several rooms - a living room, three bedrooms, a kitchen, and a workshop. Upon entering, the first room is a living room with a twig mat and little shelves decorated with shiny seashells and other various shiny items. A few tiny paintings hang on the walls. The kitchen has a small table and mats instead of chairs. He keeps all his food here but doesn't have a fridge. In his bedroom, he has a small bed made up of leaves and feathers and even more shelves and paintings. There are two other bedrooms. One belonging to his mate, Fei Yan, and the other belongs to his son, Covey.
Finally, the workshop is the biggest room in his house and makes up nearly half of it. It contains a few tools and supplies for crafting, such as tiny sharp rocks (as knives) and twine. He keeps everything he gathers for crafting and building in this room. It's full to the brim with valuables.
Fletcher was born in the Mais pond and spent more of his childhood in the water. He lived a good life with his parents and had no siblings.
While he was still little, he got too curious and wandered beyond the pond, where he had a scary encounter with a snake. He developed a fear of large creatures and vowed to never leave the pond afterwards.
Once he was older, he decided to move out onto land and ended up living in a self-made leaf hut for a while. He took on crafting as a hobby which helped him develop some carpentry skills. With his improved skill, he made himself a better house out of twigs, bindings, and weaved mats and tore down the lame old leaf hut next to it.
After some time, he met another Mais, Fei Yan, and they became good friends. He'd always try to be brave to impress her and followed her on adventures. Even if things got scary, he was determined to keep going and would sometimes question why he's even doing things. At some point, he realized that he had fallen for her.
Eventually, Fletcher and Fei Yan became mates and their son, Covey, was born. He had to expand and rebuild sections of his house to fit a family. The house has been his home for as long as he can remember, and it has seen quite a bit of rennovations over the past few years now.
Fletcher and Fei Yan's adventurous son. Fletcher tries his best to teach Covey about crafting and carpentry.
