Magic System

Magic is a source that keeps everything alive. If you would remove the magic from a plant for example, it would slowly die. You can trap magic but it's very hard and not recommended to do because it can go wrong very fast if done wrong. Novyon can wield magic but he needs to get it from somewhere first, so if he wanted to wield fire, he would need to withdraw the magic of a fire first and store it in himself to release it. He cannot store things for a long time cause it will mix with his own internal magic, if he has a good amount of something it could hold up to a month. If he would ever store or withdraw too much magic that he cannot hold it, a very big explosion could happen that releases an insane amount of magic everywhere. This would make things a lot unbalanced and would result in a dying land where the explosion reached. Magic is like energy, without energy things die in these lands. Also if something is low on magic or uses a lot of it, it will get tired and needs to recharge themselves.

His curse

The reason why he got cursed is told in a legend: on how a great evil got defeated by powerful men who imprisoned him forever, because he already wanted to defeat all human beings back then. But his intentions weren’t completely evil, he only wanted to protect his kind and other animals. The humans wanted to source out all of the magic to make their own. But the magic, that humans can’t wield, is in lively things (animals, plants, humans, etc. the amount is different for everything). Humans have such low magic in themselves that it's practically zero. But they knew other kinds could use it somehow, they found out that many source out plants for low magic. 

tldr

Humans wanted all the magic for their own selfish desires, that would mean the planet would die and everything on it, and Novyon wanted to stop them by killing them all cause some other humans will do the same thing someday.

Lore

Novyon was born a dragon but after some incidents he got tied up in his human form. Zero and him met while they both tried to kill the same guy and bonded over that and what he did to them. They are best friends and he likes to annoy Zero a lot. After befriending Zero, both of them went on adventures together to survive and get rich. Zero's intentions were always to learn more about magic and how to integrate it in weapons to amplify them and make them better. While Novyon only wanted to go on adventures with his best friend and flirt with women for fun. He always loved animals and especially cats. When he found one he would always show Zero and ask if they could keep them but Zero always said no. Both of them rescued Knight, Zero's pet and best friend, from an animal fighting ring. He was very injured on his head and was blinded and left with a big scar on his face. To cover it up Zero made a mask for him to hide his vulnerability. Knight always loved to steal Novyon’s food or annoy him but he loved him nonetheless, but Novyon got sometimes quite mad with him. Novyon fights everyday with two sides of him, it's like yin and yang. Novyon likes to manipulate or flirt with people to get what he wants, he has no interest in any human of sorts but likes to play with them, like a cat and mouse play. Novyon trust Albert with his life, well his human one does... the dragon one well he has his plans. Zero didn't know about Novyon’s split personality. After Zero found out, he couldn't believe it. He was lied to, all this time. One of Novyon’s side never wanted to stay with Zero, he despised him but knew his value to get his dragon form back. As Novyon gets enough magic to free himself from his human form, he swore revenge. So Zero knew the only thing he could do to stop him is to kill his best friend.
