Avery's generally a Charming Guy, but unlike his sibling he can be incredibly petty, vindictive and scheming. He would claim he only does it to get the most positive outcome. Plays up his ego quite a bit to cover up for his insecurities.
Older brother of Valère. Also known as Averil Marcelain in fantasy games.
I use the name Avery when speaking about him.

Dragon Age
Not heavily involved in the plot of Inquisition. He corresponded with Varlais throughout it and thought it was pretty funny they ended up having to solve a bunch of human problems. Lead hunter for their clan. May have shown up at Skyhold unannounced, once or twice.
Werewolf.
The Elder Scrolls
Born to an Altmer mother and Bosmer father in the second era, Avery spent his youth split between the mountains of Valenwood and the Summerset Isles. He looks like an tall Bosmer. Beliefs lie between the Altmeri and Bosmeri pantheons with no strict adherence to the Green Pact.
As an adult he traveled around Tamriel, taking on odd-jobs and helping out those who asked. A member of the Hounds of Hircine and associated with the Thieve's Guild. Avery didn't have a strong opinion on the Three Banners War but still allied himself with his home countries and joined the Aldmeri Dominion. From that point on it's just the storyline of Elder Scrolls Online, with Avery as one of the Soulless Ones. Like, whatever. He met and worked with Ezra several times over the course of the plot.
AND THEN HE DIED, soul irrevocably shattered in a cataclysmic event.
Blah blah I'll rewrite this eventually. Chilled in the Hunting Grounds for a while before Hircine sent his ass back to Tamriel during the events of Skyrim. As a result of the resurrection his presence makes people feel uneasy -- he doesn't belong on Mundus. Meets up with Varlais and Ezra (again). And so on.
Werewolf. Champion for Hircine with an interest in Lorkhan and Baan Dar.
Fallout
400+ hours of this jackass running around the Commonwealth with a Gauss rifle and MacCready.
He graduated with a M.S. in Computer Engineering from CIT, went and did some things and came back to teach there as an adjunct professor. Had a serious relationship with Ezra.
I never put much consideration into the whole canon plot... most likely Nora was a roommate with a child that was not related to Avery. He would still attempt to track the child down, though -- his longing for the time before the bombs fell is too strong not to.
Avery was sympathetic towards the synths, and viewed them as equal with humans after a period of initial hesitation. He sided with the Railroad but tricked Father into handing over the Institute and was like "jk change of plans" when Father died. Destroying that knowledge would go against Avery's morals and it's a poorly written ending, anyway!! DISAPPOINTING. Slight addiction to orange mentats. Also likes deathclaws.
Not a werewolf... but not human. ;)
Final Fantasy
Sometimes you just have to become a Sin Eater.
A Warrior of Light alongside Varlais, and member of the Scions, but NOT the main character. Sad! Avery was born in the Sharlayan Dravanian colony, and then relocated to Old Sharlayan when the time came. He is trained in archery but chose to pursue aether-enhanced armaments during his time in The Studium. He now uses a gunblade.
Avery has the Echo, however, it differs from the way it functions in-game. His Echo allows him to predict enemy movements moments beforehand. Basically, instinctual AOE markers.
I'm bored of writing atm so shorthand: relationship with Ezra, absorbs too much Light on The First and nearly turns, his aether is unbalanced as a result and requires monitoring. Ancient self was named Alastor and was a traveling companion to Azem (Varlais).
Valère Marcel sibling
The one person Avery would not dare mess with. Valère, however, has no problem harassing Avery. He can be overly protective of them.
Eizo Novak partner
Avery's partner of varying length and origin, depending on the setting. Eizo is considerably more even-keeled than Avery and can keep his bullshit in check.
Haris & Sidonie parents
Avery loves his parents, and they are very supportive of him. Sidonie is from New Orleans and Haris is from Lyon. He tends to take after his father, but worries more about disappointing his mother. The family is economically comfortable in most settings, as Sidonie comes from a wealthy family and both parents work well-paying jobs.
Trivia
- He is afraid of deep water after nearly drowning as a child, but won't admit to it and will just find a way around the issue.
- In human settings, he was born in Louisiana and the family moved to the Bay Area shortly before Valère was born. A few years later they moved again to Lake Tahoe for Haris' work. He can speak French but it's a mixture of his parents' distinct dialects.
- He listens to old rock/psych rock, and music his parents would have listened to (blues, jazz.) His favorite movie genre is horror because he sucks.
- Has excellent spacial and visual memory -- useful after you've been dead and/or frozen for hundreds of years.
- Enjoys reverse engineering and cryptography, designs printed circuit boards as a hobby. A bit of a hacker fucker if the setting allows it.
- He wears a cologne with the smell of cardamom. And sunscreen.
- May wear glasses or contacts in human settings. He can manage without them, but wouldn't drive (his stupid matte black Dodge Challenger.)
- Not exactly into sports but he did play baseball as a teenager.
- His favorite characters are Bugs Bunny, Kermit the Frog, and Snoopy.
