Backstory:
Pup was born in a shallow den that rested on the edge of Clan territory. He was one of three kits, but by the end of the moon, he was the only one left. His mother, a rogue who wandered too close to the clans, disappeared one night and never returned to her young. The scent of blood and fox rested where she had laid. A patrol had found him the day of his mother's disappearance. He was shivering cold and starved, so the cats took him in their paws out of a shared pity. The leader named him Wolfkit for his ragged, brown fur, though the name carried a warning more than honor. Other kits avoided him. He bit, scratched, and fought for everything: food, space, and pride. He was a kit who craved recognition, to be seen as more than a scrawny mouse to the rest.

Given the name Wolfpaw, he grew to be a strong, skilled apprentice. His mentor, Wiltpelt, called him reckless, though unmatched in battle. He didn't trust easily, but then came Lostpaw, a quiet, blinded apprentice who spoke with patience instead of pride. At first, Wolfpaw couldn't stand him. To him, a cat who couldn't see could never be trained to be a warrior. But his doubt changed to respect when he saw how Lostpaw carried himself. He moved through camp with calm pawsteps, not letting his lack of sight define him. He started walking beside Lostpaw during their training, describing the world that the smaller cat could not see. Lostpaw, in return, saw the good in him that no one else did. Wolfpaw pledged to become his guardian, chasing or shouting at those who doubted and judged him.

When they became warriors, Wolfpaw earned the name Wolfstalker and Lostpaw became Lostsight. From that day on, Wolfstalker never left Lostsight's side. He didn't wait for the leader to assign him of the role, instead he gave it to himself. In his eyes, he was Lostsight's shadow. The one who would follow him no matter what, but his loyalty held a price. As moons passed, Wolfstalker grew colder towards others. He was seeing threats in every glance, every whisper, even a shift of paws. Then, Rat arrived in the picture. A smooth-tongued, good for nothing rodent, as Wolfstalker says. He saw how the outsider whispered promises to Lostsight, promising greatness and destiny. Wolfstalker's instincts screamed danger, but when he tried to confront Lostsight on his thoughts, he was dismissed. His friend's faith blinded him more than the darkness of his sight could.
When he is distanced from Lostsight, he watches. He swore to the stars that if Rat leads Lostsight into darkness, then Wolfstalker will follow. Not to stop Rat, but to permanently end him. He knows there's something about the outsider that speaks ill of the stars in the night sky, but if he will be dismissed for his words.. then he must wait for it all to crumble and shatter like glass.
