Phanesians are a lab-created race of primarily humanoid, slime-like creatures. The first Phanesian was a blue specimen created in 4006 in a Kersey Vitalia research facility as part of a project to create intelligent, humanoid creatures from the wildlife on a nearby planet, Tayo-Sei. They are durable shapeshifters above human abilities with features varying depending on color.

Phanesians are not an officially registered or well known species, and thus incapable of acquiring a 1st class sID. Instead, Phanesians are allowed to apply for a 2nd class sID. Being the equivalent of a second class citizen, depending on the community, this tends to grant them less rights and limit their mobility.

Phanesian biology is entirely different from any other species'. Common science finds them complex and confusing, and Kersey Vitalia is still in the process of researching the subject.

The outer layer of their bodies consists of relatively soft, sticky slime. Generally, it is thick enough to hold together a humanoid form, although the consistency varies with color heritage. Phanesians are in full control of this layer physically, and are capable of manipulating their form with it at the cost of some energy. If deprived of all energy, a Phanesian will become significantly softer and melt into a puddle until they recover. In drastic cases, they will retreat to the core located inside of their chest, where their consciousness resides.

Their forms are bound to a humanoid faux-skeleton, the "macro-cytoskeleton". They are also able to change its form to take on less humanlike forms, but it is significantly slower, and if rushed, can be a painful process.

The subdermal layer of Phanesians is corrosive, and can digest a multitude of materials. They can feed through any part of their body, though they acquire the most nutrition from organic material. On average, they have a voracious appetite, considering the fact that manipulating and keeping their form intact takes more energy than a human typically consumes. Phanesians are easily capable of storing things inside of them whole through forming a thin layer of harmless epidermis around the object.

They are capable of regenerating all lost body parts, at the cost of biomass.
