History

Dr. Clarence Jones was a Kenfeld scholar who studied and worked in cooperation with Siward Schäfer, whom he met at the academy. As a team of two doctors they specialised in researching various illnesses and their cures, while treating sick patients all over Marland. Seemingly unseparable, it came to a surprise to many of their patients that years down the line the two of them no longer worked together. After they parted ways, some of the patients specifically loyal to Jones asked for his treatments, claiming that Siward's cure "seemed off" and "foul". The father of one of Jones' (and formerly Siward's) frequent patients, Clement Auclair, even warned that "stepping foot in the unknown is a recipe for disaster", in reference to the usage of mummia from Egypt in Siward's cure.

As Clement's saying foreshadowed, a curse soon overtook all of Marland and many of Siward's patients had transformed into vile, Egyptian beasts, as proven by Clement's mauled remains found by Clarence at the Auclair Estate. Mortified by the disappearance of Auclair's daughter, Clarence sets off to find and rescue her from whichever beast she was taken by, while exterminating any beasts caused by Siward's cure, with the help of the Chosen Osiris.
