Overview
A spirit that descended to earth while sleeping in the heart of an asteroid. Though assumed to possess latent, potent powers, Mesmeridian has yet to demonstrate the their full scope. She is still revered and worshiped as a goddess, and has an entire sect appointed to oversee and promote the advancement of her abilities. |
Background
Mesmeridion has very little memory of her life before careening down to earth, but with the guidance of her oracles, she has cleared the haze obscuring one major event--and event of great suffering and calamity. Aside from the carnage, flames, and lamentations, she remembers nothing else of her past, and fears what her findings would be should she ever recall it. Though this planet is not her own, her arrival was prophesied. The oracles watched as her commit neared, and their texts and understanding of the stars all pointed to its indisputable importance. Where it landed they followed, and upon finding it, Mesmeridion had already begun to awaken. Her body was nothing but hot white light that only began to shape when she was approached by the oracles. Assuming the form of the first creatures she encountered, Mesmeridion is a blend of human and animal. Once she was brought back to the temple, Mesmeridion slept for a period of nine days while tended to by the oracles. Waking up was an overwhelming event, and for months she was endlessly vigilant and nervous--a remnant, no doubt, of the destruction she would later recall. |
