they kinda operate as a hivemind. your classic sirens in the sense that they are sexy and lure people to their deaths, but they don't stop at sailors. theyve got a large underwater community and many portals that are highly sought after. people want in so bad because these portals have not only the ability to hop from place to place all over the planet, but also the ability to travel to entirely different universes (which some of the sea monsters do often. some of them really enjoy hanging out in apricity). they try to keep these portals secret and some are more aggressive about it than others... while some are more eager to share than others (see Tod Locklear's ex gf who showed him her portal on the first date)
