Physical Description: tall, lanky, messy hair that's usually tied up in a loose ponytail. dyes hair often, usually pink but sometimes blonde when he's feeling weird. grey-blue eyes. Clothing style: Comfort and cuteness over any reasonable sense of fashion. Either wears tight black clothes or oversized bright colored stuff he found at the second-hand store. and sandals or flip-flops. he's a disgrace.
Family: Father who has passed on, and two mothers.
Personality: Ritsuo has a hard time caring about anything serious. He's pleasant and a nice friend, sometimes going out of his way to pick up a present for them or just try to make them feel better. When it comes to anything deeper however, he's useless and avoidant, especially if it's something awkward or unpleasant. He's been known to ghost (ha) romantic interests that get too serious and hates conflict. He's a joker, sometimes making inappropriate or untimely jokes, and a daydreamer (His favorite joke, especially since he works with ghosts, is "Guess I'll die."). He has a lot of acquaintances but finds it hard to keep any long-term friends as they see him as shallow.
Extra: Doesn't care much about masculinity and embraces cute things. Loves anything strawberry. Gets addicted to phone games and spends too much money on them only to drop them two weeks later. Dresses according to his feelings; when he's in a happier mood he puts his hair back and wears bright, cheerful colors. When he's low-energy or dour he wears black.
The Baku: The Baku is a spirit that Ritsuo encountered when he was a child. Ritsuo has had disorienting dreams every night ever since he could remember and night terrors since his father died. The Baku eats Ritsuo's dreams allowing him a peaceful night's sleep. It doesn't speak, but he feels a connection with it and has always been there for him, so he feels like it is an old friend. Over the years it has taken on shades of pink and purple to its fur. Helps him nagivate liminal spaces and dream states for his clients.
PKMN trainer AU
A trainer and exorcist. Calm spirits of the dead (be it Pokemon or people) and solves paranormal mysteries. Has some psychic ability, but only weakly (just like, sensing abilities. not levitating ). Battles for fun and to keep his partner Pokemon sharp. Ritsuo likes to focus on Pokemon that benefit him in his profession, but a Pokemon's cuteness is also extremely important to him. He leans towards Psychic and Ghost types as he feels a special connection to them. Born in the Hoenn region near Lilycove City, he travels frequently and currently lives and works in Kalos. He grew up running amok on Mt. Pyre, scrambling over the foggy crags of the island with only the supervision of his mothers' two Meowstic. He noticed he could see and communicate with the dead early on, befriending many of the ghosts of Pokemon resting on Mt. Pyre.
Team:
Banette: has been stalking Ritsuo since childhood as a Shuppet. It likes to play pranks on him and originally the two didn't get along very well. Upon catching Chimecho as his first Pokemon, Ritsuo used its move Yawn to catch the Shuppet just so it wouldn't sneak up and scare him anymore. Ritsuo and Banette's relationship eventually grew from resentment, to understanding, to fondness as they grew up together. They still tease and prank each other frequently. Ritsuo can understand Banette very well, and he talks to him often (kind of in an Ash and Pikachu way). Probably his strongest fighter along with his Chandelure, and can mega evolve. Moves: Phantom Force, Torment, Sucker Punch, Swagger
Chimecho: Ritsuo's first Pokemon. Caught on Mt. Pyre with the help of his mothers' Pokemon. A little dingy (ha) but has a soothing personality. It plays a supportive role, calming and lulling enraged spirits or Pokemon into submission. Moves: Yawn, Heal Bell, Healing Pulse, Extrasensory
Musharna: A Pokemon he met as a Munna when he first become a medium. It helps locate troubled ghosts and navigate dream states/reality warped areas. Also conveniently eats all Ritsuo's dreams as he suffers from severe night terrors.
Chandelure: A strong offensive Pokemon. Likes to feed off Ritsu's energy when he's not paying attention, so it's not ideal to just hang out with.
Mimikyu: Ritsuo caught it as it was "haunting" a client's business. It was just so cute. Mimikyu hates him, however. But it hates Banette more, and tries to bully it. Which is funny because it's a baby and like level 10. Ritsuo is currently still trying to train it and have it warm up to him as it would be excellent against Dark types.
Reuniclus: Balancing offense and defense, a good-natured and cheerful Pokemon and VERY good to hug.
