Amira

Amira was disowned and nearly executed by her family for destroying the most important part of her lineage: her voice. She is very subdued in manner, a loyal person who focuses her whole self for the sake of the one she loves most.

Amira's family was very poor, and her village was on a nigh-deserted continent in the Salonican Realm.  The star was famous for its Silversand Beaches, which however beautiful were deadly to humans.  Amira's family gathered and sifted the silver dust from the sand and bottled it to be weighed and sold at markets.  The first time she realized how deadly a Psyren's voice could be, she was still very young; about 7 years of human maturation.  She was singing alone in a spring while taking a bath, and before she realized it a man that had wandered away from a merchant ship drowned in another spring several yards away.  Each time she witnessed the power her voice held over humans, it crushed her with despair for their lives.  Several centuried after this first incident, she was singing a stormsong to encourage rainfall in the drought-riddled woods; halfway through, she was forced to watch an entire ship be torn apart on a reef and all her occupants drowned.  They had been caught unawares by her song.  Out of desperation, anxeity and grief, Amira slashed her vocal chords, and became mute.  However, as much havoc as they caused, Psyren's voices were highly important for self-defense, fighting, and healing also; their destruction was cause for execution.

The day Amira was set to be executed, Prince Hugh opened a Spercious Portal over the waterfall they used as a platform.  Blindly giving her best to save the young man, Amira left the executioners platform and saved the prince on her own.  It was only because Hugh protected her in return that Amira's family turned over the rights to her life to Hugh, and disowned her completely.

Amira is somewhat gender fluid, and isn't good at expressing what she wants from her partner.  Her talents include fighting skills with the naginata, and playing the harp and fife.  Her downtime is usually spent napping by Hugh in the library while he continues to obsess over books.  Amira's priorities are Hugh, Hugh, the Kingdom, Bryant, Hugh. (generally in that order.)
