Goober is King Goobot & Ooblar’s younger cousin, but he’s a really silly, kind hearted soul who is not like the usual Yolkian in the slightest. He is an outcast in the Yolkian society. He’s always been soft, friendly, and shows zero interest in their cultural worship of Poultra. Instead, he dislikes the whole idea of sacrificing humans to her, since he actually shows a lot of curiosity and admiration towards humanity!

Goober has always been despised by his cousins, Goobot and Ooblar. He ends up getting blasted into deep space by Goobot after being seen as a traitor for not worshipping Poultra. Later on, while Team Neutron are on a space trip, he discreetly hitches a ride on their ship and is taken back down to earth when they return, unbeknownst to them.
After he introduces himself to them, Jimmy, Cindy, Sheen & Libby understandably do NOT trust him in the slightest (especially Jimmy), but Carl sees Goober’s true colors and trusts him. Carl ends up keeping him and the two are such best buddies (to Jimmy’s HUGE dismay)! Over time though, and after Goober aids them on their adventures, all of them eventually accept that he is nothing like the other Yolkians.
They keep him hidden from Retrovillians though understandably, otherwise angry mobs would form.
