Nobu

Nobu appears to be unapproachable and guarded to those he meets. In reality he is lonely but wishes to be left alone so he does not fail another who is important to him.

When he was young, he was partnered with a craftsman in a rural village who held a small, wooden, handmade nekomata statue precious. She was a sickly girl that wished to see others happy and always put those before herself which led to poor business practices and deseprate times. Because of his partner's lenient and forgiving tendencies, Nobu's "purpose" was to reinforce and have a firm hand where his partner could not. However, his birth made matters worse. The presence of a humanoid nekomata frightened the villagers and secluded the two further into the mountains until there were no people within ear's shot. In order to obtain food and other items to live, Nobu would fake an honest living in front of his partner but steal from the villagers since they thought so bad of them anyway. Nobu's partner passed away regardless due to lacking the proper medicine despite his best efforts. In poor condition but happy that she was allowed to be given the gift of a Lacie companion who she thought to be a true nekomata this whole time.

He's lived 100 years by himself, until one day a door to the world was opened to him again. (TBC)

*Despite being made out of wood, Nobu's characteristics are comparable to Lacies who were born from plush dolls except his skin is smooth to the touch (as opposed to minky.)
*He believes he is a true nekomata and has no concept of a "Lacie." Though he wonders why he can't shapeshift like legends say he should.
