Y'garos has been king of the arid mountains of the east for as long as anyone can remember. This long-lived, massive griffin makes home in the crater of a long-dead volcano, where he hoards bones and corpses by the thousands. Some say he isn't a griffin at all, but rather the demonic spawn of Yeenoghu and some feral bird-like being. His nest is a macabre sight of skeletons in various states of decay, from every creature imaginable. His prized bones are that of a massive dragon, that curls all the way around the crater and creates the edges of his nest of decay. He's made a comfortable pile of furs, cloth, and leather he's taken from the bodies he finds in the gaping mouth of the skeleton.

He spends most of his time lazily gliding around his territory that spans hundreds of miles in every direction, followed by a massive entourage of vultures and gnolls, scouring for the dead (or dying, he won't be picky). His favorite finds are the remnants of human battlefields. He spends weeks picking over the corpses, eating the ruined bones left behind by his flock and collecting the ones in good condition from humans, horses, dogs, and whatever else perished in the battlefield. He's also quite fond of metal objects, and his hoard is littered with pieces of armor and weapons.

Quite taken by the humans and their idea of armor, he painstakingly attached bones to scraps. He wears this armor when he feels the need to intimidate or make an appearance to humans. It covers his shoulders, neck, and back. A headpiece rests over all but the tip of his beak, framing his head in a frill of sharp ribs, fangs and claws.

When humans tread into his nest, whether on purpose or by mistake, he'll humor them for a time. He usually answers questions with questions, and rarely says what he means. Regardless, he's happy to trade information he may have for news on the current political affairs of humans. Not that he truly cares much for the petty drama of humans, but so he knows when a war is going on and where the battlefields might end up. Occasionally, he uses this information to seek out political figures of the human world, using sly words and promises to instigate them into wars. He's more than happy to help a human deliver a message, run an errand, or slay someone important to fuel the fire of strife, so he can claim the bones when the dust is settled.

Though he hasn't been called on yet, Y'garos will answer the call of his demonic father, Yeenoghu, when he calls. Whatever the chaotic demon requests of him, he will try to accomplish, whether that be influence among mortals, great swathes of treasure, conquest of a mortal settlement, or bloodshed for the sake of bloodshed.
