Profile
An “attorney” from a planet where all legal disputes are settled through gladiatorial combat. One of the best of the best in her home world, she has a strong sense of duty and a deep-seated compulsion to protect all those who might come across as weaker than her, whether that be in physical strength, monetary ability, or social status. Although she may not be the most intelligent person in the universe, she by makes up for it in empathy, courage, and skill--or at least, she’d like to hope so.
Lorica was groomed from birth to become a gladiator-attorney, born into a family of successful ones who paid for her to receive the best of the best in terms of education. They were well-off thanks to the fact that they took on only rich clients, typically in corporate cases, a lot was at stake, but this never sat well with her. Growing up watching her parents repeatedly shift the blame off of privileged parties who she believed to be guilty made her realize that she would never be satisfied living that sort of life, so she decided to become a public defender.
Lorica made waves in the legal scene upon graduation from her training due to her legacy status, undeniable skill, and unusually wide-eyed, optimistic demeanor. She deliberately sought out clients who she believed to be innocent based on her own intuition and judgment with no regard for their ability to pay, quickly endearing her to the masses while antagonizing the upper echelons of Planet Lanista’s society. As her popularity grew, the demand for her services did, too, and she soon found it difficult to keep up with the many people in need of her help.
Lorica finds herself caught up in the Liu-An incident when she makes a stop there on the way to a planet well-known for its natural scenery, where she was planning to take a week off to herself after a string of particularly stressful cases. The Gnosia attack brings her right back into work mode, and she attempts to rescue as many people as she can before boarding the D.Q.O. herself, although she finds herself outperformed in that regard by Setsu._- Very tall and bulky, didn’t really convey that well in her ref._
