Memento Mori

Level 1

Death-Touched: Mori’s closeness to death leaves her less vulnerable to certain effects. She gains an additional 1d6 to Rolls to Dye to defend against disease, exhaustion, fatigue, sleep, poison, and other effects at the Gamemaster’s discretion.

Acidosis: Mori can produce a golden, acidic energy. In melee combat, she gains a +1 to Rolls to Do and Rolls to Dye, and deals an additional 2 damage. Additionally, the golden acid is able to eat through metal and other materials, doubling her effectiveness at taking down physical obstacles.

Level 2

Entropy Pool: Mori’s powers of entropy and energy allow her to empower herself with the hits she takes. She gains access to a resource pool called Entropy Points. When Mori takes physical damage (i.e. not mental or emotional), she gains an Entropy Point to later spend. All unspent Entropy Points are lost at the end of a conflict.

Kinetic Conversion: Mori’s Acidosis can be further empowered to augment her attacks, increasing her physical damage by 2 per Entropy Point spent.

When Mori sets her swing to her Black Eternal Paramour attribute, she selects a minor boon to gain as the memories of her squadmates bleed together with the echoes contained in Eternity’s Doorstep. While under the effect of a squadmate’s minor boon, she gains a new effect to choose from when igniting her swing. However, igniting her swing to receive a squadmate’s major boon means that she increases her Philautia by 1.

Her Black Eternal Paramour attribute cannot be increased by normal means of experience gain. Instead, at thresholds of multiples of 5 Philautia points, her Black Eternal Paramour attribute increases by 1. Each increase represents walking closer to death and to Eternity’s Doorstep, garnering further changes to Mori and her gifts.

Bailey:

• Minor (Mechanic’s Advice)—Mori can directly interface with technology, allowing her greater control over it and letting her bypass her Shire Upbringing flaw.
• Major (“Tech’s simple, Mori: 1s and 0s are just a computer’s version of the firing of neurons.”)—Mori briefly melds her mind with the tech she is interfaced to, allowing her to communicate with it on a metaphysical level as if a person.

Esri:

• Minor (Berserker's Power)—Each instance of damage that Mori deals increases by a value equal to her Black Eternal Paramour attribute.
• Major (“C’mon Mori! I know you can hit harder than that.”)—If Mori won the triggering Clash, she quadruples her damage instead of doubling it.

Jay:

• Minor (Sentinel’s Stance)—Mori reduces each instance of damage she takes by a value equal to her Black Eternal Paramour attribute.
• Major (“You and me, Mori? We take the hits so everyone can go home at the end of this.”)—This boon triggers and ignites her swing if Mori would drop to 0 health while under the effects of Sentinel’s Stance. Mori withstands the damage taken and instead drops to 1 health.

Namana:

• Minor (Sniper’s Eye)—Mori can see impossible distances and minute details, even if they might otherwise be imperceptible to normal vision.
• Major (“Look, Mori. No, really look.”) —Mori sees everything both physical and metaphysical. She immediately becomes aware of anything that her Sniper’s Eye boon might perceive, as well as anything metaphysical or otherwise magically concealed.

Saraea:

• Minor (Lieutenant's Chessboard)—When an allied character acts on Mori’s combat advice, they add the value of her Black Eternal Paramour attribute to their roll.
• Major (“Checkmate! Take that Mori, I finally beat you!”)—Mori selects one allied non-player character and one enemy non-player character. She chooses the next action both of them take.

Vestra:

• Minor (Doctor’s Orders)—Every act, Mori regenerates an amount of health equal to her Black Eternal Paramour attribute.
• Major (“A good leader knows when it’s time to rest and recuperate, Mori.”)—Mori immediately heals a number of wounded attribute dice equal to her Black Eternal Paramour attribute.

Once per session, Mori can remember her impassioned speech at the Strawberry Machine Cake concert and have it empower her resolve. She gains an extra 1d6 on any roll to defend and protect what she cares about.

Keen Ears: With large, rabbit-like ears, Mori is able to hear a broader range of sounds. She can hear certain ultrasonic frequencies and gains a +1 on Rolls using her hearing.

Leporine Agility: Mori can jump and leap twice as far as a human, even without accounting for her unnatural speed and acrobatic training.

Shire Upbringing (Flaw): Aurus is not a technologically advanced planet, instead hosting a pastoral lifestyle. Mori receives a -1 penalty on Rolls using complex technology.

Forcepack: An improved jetpack to help Mori when her acrobatics aren’t sufficient.

Mindlink Circlet: An armor attachment that allows Mori to telepathically communicate with any creatures within a short range with which she shares a language.

Null Space Chamber: An extradimensional space for holding items. It can hold enough air for a creature for 2 hours.

Aphelion Laser Pistol: A short range pistol.
