A human who's ship was destroyed after Urul's pirates raided it, Emery was adopted by Lysander and Urul when he was only a year old after the goliath insisted they atleast bring the child to safety after killing his family. Lysander, of course, got attached to the baby and thus they raised the child with the help of a siren wet nurse Urul all but yeeted out of the water.

Emery grew up being taught hardwork and discipline by his half orc father, kindness and empathy from his half tiefling "mother", and tolerance + mischief from his siren wet nurse. Despite all his parents and the other crew members (who adored the tiny human and spoiled him to death) tried to instill, Emery some how turned out to be the rotten apple of the bunch-a hardcore partier who somehow inherited his urul's self hatred and Lysander's thotness.
Knowing from a young age that he would never out live his parents (he was a boring human, both his parents were already hundreds of years old) he grew up shouting "I BET I CAN SIP ALL THE ALCOHOL ON DECK BEFORE MIDNIGHT!" and knowing he would have free food for his entire life. What he didn't anticipate is the wreck that would take his parent's lives, one of his legs, and one of his hands.
Despite partying the first 20 years of his life away when the ship was left in shambles and he along with a handful of crew mates were left stranded on a deserted island he bucked up showing that he surprisingly did learn something in all those years he listened to his parents nag with a hangover. Still, leading was not what he wanted to do especially with a heart as heavy as his. After successfully guiding the crew away from the desert island he left them at a port town and jumped on the nearest ship looking for new crew.

Since then he has jumped from ship to ship earning the nickname "green gale" because although he is well known as a fighter as fierce as the terrible gale which took his parents he's always "green" on each ship he visits. His reputation precedes him and often times he's found himself approached by insubordinate crew members who try to start a revolt and ask if he wants to be their new captain-each time he takes that as a sign to jump ship (sometimes literally) and find his next job. He wishes simply to sway in hammocks with the night sky twinkling above him, a cool sea breeze, a bottle of booze, and the fire lighting up the deck near by.

Emery is a well natured young man with an always apparent bitterness that takes on the form of self depreciating "black" humor, pessimistic comments tinged with laughter, and those tired gazes and memories he lets slip through late at night. It's clear he's running from something, that something being loss, and he's not afraid to sing a ballad or joke about memories long past when asked. He is a hardworker but only when he wants to be. Although he is a fierce fighter and strong helper on deck he prefers to be lazing about with a bottle of something boozy at any given hour of the day. He's always loved to party and although in later years he's certainly calmed down he's not about to give up his vices for a little sadness. Emery is known both for his cheerful demeanor but also his strong leadership skills. He has a knack for it (being the son of a fierce captain after all) and although he is responsible enough to avoid leadership roles like the plague his empathy gets the best of him and he sometimes bucks up, takes the reigns, when it's clear he needs to. He's non-confrontational by nature but observant enough to pick the fights he's got to before things turn sour for everyone.
