Asher Dumont

Personality:
Asher is typically quiet, serious and cold towards people, especially ones he doesn't know or trust. He usually goes out of his way to avoid people and prefers alone time. Whilst he can get easily irritated, he does his best to hide it. Asher believes that he doesn't matter and shouldn't bother other people with his troubles or add to conversations, even if he's knowledgeable on the subject. However, to the people that can break through the cold exterior and become his friends, Asher will open up a lot. He becomes more quick witted and sarcastic, whilst also showing more emotion to the people around him. He becomes easily flustered. Asher is also extremely loyal to his friends and would easily give up his own life for the people he cares about. However, due to habit, Asher is also quick to make up excuses and lies about things he messed up. 

His onstage personality however, is a different story. Asher plays the more 'quiet and mysterious' type who says cool things to hype up his fans. Most of these things are scripted for him and he has to simply act them out, but lately cracks have been showing through his mask. He lets on more then he should. 

Backstory:

Main beats:

• Asher was born in a luck cult within the city, whom tried to appease their luck goddess Fortuna. The cult was made up of gamblers and criminals and Asher was the attempt to make the luckiest person alive. At a very young age Asher got a tiger pattern tattooed on him, as tigers are considered lucky. 
• The Alliance raided the cult, either killing or locking up the members. When they found Asher, he became a headline for a while to show off how cruel the cult was. Latanya the Songbird, one of the older idols, adopted Asher as a way to show off her kindness. 
• Asher did not have a happy time with his new mother. Most of his upbringing she left at the hands of teachers and servants while she pretended to be a good mother outside of home. Asher was used as a pawn, to garner sympathy for Latanya whilst also raising up a new idol that Latanya could manipulate.
• Latanya only came in to check Ashers results. If she was displeased, she would berate him for it and saying it was his fault for not paying more attention. She said, during these moments, to cover up his skin. It was ugly and improper to show. She also implied that Asher may not even have a power, but that he could not let the world know as "they would eat you alive" if they figured out he was lying. 
• When Asher was older, late teens, Latanya send him to the military. She wanted to create a militant idol so that she could garner more support for The Alliance. A 'normal' soldier, whom didn't back down in the face of danger. 
• Here he met Iwan Sommer, his roommate and teammate for his time there. He didn't trust Iwan at first, but due to Iwan's positive nature, quickly took down his walls and became friends and later fell in love. 
• Asher had plans to ask for a different roommate, as he felt that his feelings for Iwan were one sided and got in the way of his training. He was very surprised that Iwan felt the same way. 
• When Latanya found out about their relationship, she forced Asher to break up with him. She proposed an ultimatum: Either Asher breaks up or he would end up on the street alone. Asher, out of fear, did it. 
• After this, Latanya carried out her plan. She asked if Asher could be transferred to a different squad at a different location. She staged an attack on the truck Asher was in, leaving only Asher alive. She spun a story how Asher fought the attackers off, supported by fake eye witness accounts. Asher knew everything was a lie, but he couldn't say anything out of fear. 
• He became the poster boy for the military. 
• While he did attempt to keep up this lie, fearing his own life, he is slowly falling apart under the pressure. 

Power: Luck manipulation(?)
It is said that Asher has the power of luck manipulation. People around Asher have said it's an passive buff for himself that increases his luck, whilst others say he can actively manipulate luck around him.

Nobody knows for sure if he even has this ability.

• Terrible flirt, cant even flirt with a guidebook. 
• Bad at improvising, will freeze up when thrown into new situations.
• Doesn't like to show his skin, would rather overheat then take something off. 
• Gets attached to people easily. 
• Likes sour candy as well. 
• Likes to imagine better timelines, where he made better choices. Regrets a lot of things. 
• While he hates his mother, he still tries to please her out of fear. She still has a lot of control over him.
• Skilled in fencing, sword fighting, painting and violin. 
• Only person currently that is close to him is his maid.
