M edea's lineage has always served as advisors to the divine head of house of soloron, cursed to have a taste of power but never the true thing. she was selected as mensa's advisor at a young age, which served as a formative memory that she's clung to for much of her life, believing that her success was written into the will of the stars.
her family has always pressured her to guide mensa in ways that benefit them, like a puppet of sorts, but medea looks to the stars above all else and sees power as but a means to harness the stars' rulings. she wholeheartedly believes in the stars, expecting mensa to stay true to them regardless of what they may say. she expects the same of her coworker, cygnus.
she, however, is not blind to the political game of soloron's rings. she simply sees that as a perversion of their faith—a true zealot of the stars, like her ancestors would've wanted. she may be deep in the corruption of it all, in the uppermost ring, but there's a deep sort of purity to her faith. she may apply it in questionable ways at times, but she does believe in it wholeheartedly in the end.
medea hates how her house is seen as frivolous stargazers, a desire to change that persisting in her mind. when sent abroad for diplomatic escapades, she tries hard to represent her house well and spread the word of the stars, but not without a bit of condescension. she sits comfortably at the top of society, eager to maintain the status quo that keeps her there.

unlike many of her peers, medea has a form of elemental magic that lets her manipulate weather. this disappointed her greatly growing up, as it meant she was never as powerful nor as close to the stars as those with divination abilities. as she got older, she began to realize that there were other ways to be in touch with the stars, and that started with embracing her own magic. she's able to manipulate light and other such things, her form of influence being on the world around her only, but her magic has grown stronger with practice.

the divine head of soloron. medea may be one of her closest advisors and may have respect for her as the voice of the stars, but her loyalty is conditional. she would betray mensa in a second if it benefited her or if she knew that her trust in the stars wavered.

her coworker and counterpart. both are advisors to mensa, but very rarely do they find themselves in agreement. she has begun to notice a flaw in his devotion, though: he almost seems to place mensa's word above that of the stars.
