About
Bright • Anxious • Determined • Adventurous
A self-taught mage who ran away from home. He dreams of adventure and the ability to freely do magic without any restrictions. Now he travels with Farraige, his dragon companion, as they head towards the East with hope they can live as themselves with no worry.
Not the most confident, Aerandir doubts his own ability to survive as well as his worth. But he's brave, strong-willed, and loyal to his friends. He's very skilled for someone who is self-taught, but still learns everyday. Meaning a couple failed spells and magic.

History
Aerandir keeps his past mostly unsaid. He had taken an innocent interest in the practice of magic at a very young age. People found out, and thus he was put into his town's magic school. The path of (legally) pursuing magic meant to just take on healing and alchemy. But Aerandir is an ever-so-curious person with a bright mind, his passion meant more to him than appealing to others. After years of hiding his practice- he finally broke down and did a lot to escape his fate in the village. He had done violent, bad things, to get out of there. A price he paid with guilt and more determination than ever to live as himself. Unprepared for the world outside his town, his sacrifice was seemingly worthless once lowly bandits were quick to overtake him barely a couple weeks into his journey. That is, until a strange, furious dragon came to his aid.
Personality
The mage often has his head in the clouds. He's a dreamer, an optimist (mostly), and a brilliant mind. He's dedicated to his craft and believes there's so much more out there for him, and later, his dear friends. He's incredibly naive though and often succumbs to black-and-white viewpoints when his passions are in question. Though his intelligence is notably incredible, his lack of wisdom often balances that out. Despite his murky past and wrongdoings, he is unfaltering in his kindness and good-hearted nature. He's kind of a goody-goody, and a huge dork. He gets flustered easily, a sight not uncommon to see when he messes up a spell or other, often dangerous, magical endeavors. Aerandir is also one to be very worried about his worth, striving to prove himself as someone worthwhile- and notably aware of his elevated cowardice and anxiety. He is unaware of his own bravery, especially in regards to his pursuing of magic, befriending a dragon-shifter, and unwavering spirit.
Design
• Somewhat baggy clothes, an outcome of being too short for clothes made for a more "average-sized" man
• The shadow obscuring his face is pitch black, a magical effect to hide his face
• His eyes always glow blue, piercing out of the cloak's shadow (the eyes become solid when doing powerful magic)
• Blue in general is the biggest color in his palette. He's so blue
• The cloak has a pointed top that I emote with him, though there is no in-world reason for it to do that, it's just fun
• He's on the shorter side, 5'2"
• Rounder face and a build that is slightly chubby
Trivia
• His inventory includes: a bag of holding (stolen), cloak of shadows (stolen), runic gauntlets (stolen), and a staff (this one he made)
• Higher pain tolerance than most- which is mostly a result of his accident-prone nature. He's both clumsy and, again, lacking in wisdom
• His staff becomes partly powered by a rare dragon-horn gemstone: a gift from Farraige
• He has a secret enjoyment of children's fairytales and adventure stories. Bit of a nerd
• Very easily spooked... with fainting not totally out of the question
