Sumire

A noppera-bo who wears a blank mask over her blank face. Sometimes she may make a face appear instead. She lives disguised as a regular human (face and all) in a rented appartment, though she's well-known among the many youkai who live in the area. Although she can communicate telepathically, she relies on sign language and writing to communicate with regular humans as if she were a deaf person, since speaking to the mind and moving her mouth accordingly at the same time could be difficult and look unconsciously unnerving to some people despite not knowing the truth.

After certain circumstances, she befriends Haku, a local shrine maiden who has recently gained very strong spiritual powers, and whose grandma was an old friend of hers.
