The sibling to Varuna, Goddess of Death, Oceans, Seas, and Storms. Legend says they were created from a volcano. As the lava spilled into the sea and formed an island, so too did a child emerge from the flames and melted rock, their hair white and burning literal fire. But life on the barren island proved lonely for the child. So with nimble fingers they grasped a fistful of steam and sunk it back into the lava exactly as it dribbled into the ocean. The spark of warm life within the lava merged with the cold, dark waters to create a sobbing baby, whose cries brought endless rain and storms to the island -- but it also brought life.
The elder child cared for their baby sibling, giving themselves the names Vyadharaja and Varuna respectively, and as they aged she found herself too tired with the island, and left for land while Varuna chose to remain on the island to bask in its serene silence. With her sister's assistance, Vyadharaja braved the waves to reach land, and there made a name for herself as a deity of war and combat, of honor and flames and victory.
