Amaris is a 1st generation Barovian, his parents were merchants who slept too close to one of the anomalies and woke up in Barovia. He grew up with parents who told wistful stories of their hometown, a High Elven city of wonders, beauty and peace. Nothing like the dark terrors and drab of Barovia. His parents died of heartache and sorrow when he was still a young elf, and he found solace in a temple of the Morninglord. He became an acolyte, and trained fiercely for the next decades to become a war cleric with one goal in mind... find others who would help him defeat Strahd, and kill the Vampire Lord so he could return to his parent's world and see the birthright he was denied.
