Sigrún

Should one travel too far past the city of Beacon and end up in the wild expanse of the north, they best take care and be prepared for an encounter with “The Bandit Queen”.

Sigrún has taken pains to cover up her personal history. Based on her accent we can tell that she’s from the Norlands, a region famed for its harsh living conditions. Whether she hails from a specific northern tribe or simply an isolated family unit is unknown, though rumours suggest that her father may have been a small-time bandit chief of the area.

What is known is that around eight years ago Sigrún began claiming herself to be “The Bandit Queen”, a violent lone brigand who attacked people on the road, raided defenseless villages and would kill, steal and kidnap without a second thought. Merciless and cruel, the disorganized nature of the Northern Highlands means that little authority exists to stop her. Of course, that doesn’t actually stop local heroes from trying.

Sigrún idolizes The Barbarian Queen, a legendary figure from the region. Sigrún sees herself as a sort of reincarnation of this figure - a new thorn-in-the-side of modern society.

On a side note: With her title being “The Bandit Queen”, and her lack of any obvious subjects, it’s unclear whether she is a Queen of Bandits or a Queen who is a Bandit.
