About
A country boy in body and soul. Koyul [pron: KOH•yule] lives with his parents on their homestead where he's taken care of the chickens, goats, and various crops ever since he was a kid. He's well-accustomed to hard work in the sweltering heat, so he tends to get called for help around the rez for manual labor like fixing fences, digging holes, and so on. It's hard to say no, especially since he knows it'll never get done if he doesn't do it. He just asks if he can do it the next day so he can plan ahead of his daily routines.
He loves travelling around when he can and collects leaves from the places he visits so he can press and catalogue them. His room is filled with unfinished projects and journals of ghost sightings and his personal conclusions. He owns a ghost box and Go-Pro for when he rummages through old, abandoned places like the old schoolhouse. He's not entirely convinced these things work, but he's dead set that spirits are real.

His missing ear gets him a lot of comments, which kinda bothers him but isn't a big deal. He lost it during a hunting trip with his dad as a child; while his dad was lining up a shot, he heard a sudden snarl and leaves being scattered, and when he looked back Koyul was gone. For the next three days, the whole rez looked until Koyul was mysteriously found asleep on the front porch of his house, completely safe, but covered in bloody scratches, torn clothing, and had his right ear torn right off.
He recalled nothing from the past three days, his last memory was sitting on a rock behind his dad and staring at the sky. His mom gave him his signature bandanna to cover up his head wraps afterwards to make him feel less self-conscious.

Fashion
Only takes off his bandanna to shower, swim, or wash it. He wears a headband in its place until he can put it back on.

Affinity
First Cousin
Koyul's cousin from his mom's side. The two grew up very close to each other, and Mod would sometimes spend the night at Koyul's before having to help out in the early morning work. Whenever Koyul goes out to travel or sell at the farmer's market, Mod is the first he'll ask.
Horror Junkie
While still getting accustomed to the rez, Koyul offered Riet a ride around in his truck to get to know the place and they hit it off well. They like to get together and arrange movie nights with the rest of the gang to watch horror movies with homemade smoothies and snacks.
Best Friend
Tofu and Koyul met in middle school and would clown together during class and PE. They both supported each other in feeling out of place since neither of them are originally from San Luis. Their favorite spot in town is the Fan Palm Promenade and love window shopping.
Childhood Friend
One of the original four in the boys' friend group. Rory grew up learning Bird Songs and would travel with his dad to sing, and they'd often take Koyul with them as a dancer. Koyul likes to drop off extra goat's milk and eggs at Rory's place so his siblings get enough to eat in the morning.
