Pine From Thick Forest was born to Owl From Rocky Peak and Kestrel That Roosts in Hollow with her sisters Elm That Grows Patiently and Maple Which Remains Strong in the Tribe of Blizzarding Snow. Owl was the tribe's Leader-To-Be when the kits were born, however she never became Leader. Pine's parents soon noticed something was different about their daughter, and learned she was mute after taking her to the healers.
Pine hated the way cats treated her, often lashing out at her mentor. When it didn't stop, she gave up on trying to change the way other cats behaved around her, still fuming on the inside. One day when she and her sister Maple were exploring a ravine, Maple slipped and fell onto a ledge. Pine offered her a paw to climb out, but once she took it Pine flung her to her death. Pine pretended to grieve with the rest of her family, but secretly enjoyed the feeling of control she gained, control over whether or not her sister would live.
Elm and Pine became full members of the tribe, but Elm was always suspicious of Pine since Maple's death. A tom named Beetle That Builds a Nest began showing a liking to Pine. Pine felt absolutely nothing toward him, but decided to string him along and soon the two became mates. Beetle was absolutely adoring over Pine, but Pine was completely apathetic toward Beetle, just using him for manipulation. She and Beetle had a litter of kits, two she-cats and a tom; Lark Who Sings During Storm, Sparrow That Flies At Dawn, and Eagle Which Soars High. Beetle adored his kits, showering them with affection, but Pine was completely disconnected. She would leave camp often to get away from them, leaving Beetle and Elm to take care of them, causing Elm to become more of a mother to her kits than herself.
During one of these outings, Pine met a loner named Fir. Fir didn't treat her the same as her tribemates, and Pine quickly fell in love with him. By the time her first litter became To-Bes, Pine had a second litter of kits, this time with Fir as the father. Two toms and a she-cat; Hycanith on Distant Moor, Carnation From Light Woods, and Lily of Deep Valley. Pine loved these kits wholly, and Beetle loved them too, much to her annoyance. Beetle didn't know that these weren't his biological kits, but Elm was still suspicious of her sister. Sparrow, Eagle and Lark were upset and cold toward their new siblings, and resented Pine for her outward affection toward the new kits when she had practically ignored them.
The second litter became To-Bes and the first became full members. Pine planned on taking her second litter to meet their father, but plans always seem to go awry. One day while out looking for Fir, Pine was confronted by her daughter Lark. Lark accused her of never loving her and her siblings, letting the moons of pent-up rage and frustration toward her mother finally boil over. Pine became enraged with Lark and attacked her. The two fought, ending when Pine killed her daughter. Just then Elm came by to see Pine standing over Lark's body, covered in blood. Elm attacked Pine, drawing the attention of a nearby patrol who had to drag Elm off of her sister.
Pine, Elm, and Lark's body were taken back to camp, where a trial was held. Through yes or no questions Pine admitted to killing Maple, Lark, and cheating on Beetle with a loner. Pine was exiled, and went to live with Fir. The two lived together happily for a while, until Sparrow and Eagle found them. The siblings attacked, and the four fought viciously, but in the end Pine and Fir were killed. Pine went to the Tribe of Endless Shadows, and Fir got stuck in Limbo, believing in the Tribe of Endless Hunting but unable to join them yet.

After Pine's death, Sparrow and Eagle did anything they could to make Lily and her brothers' lives miserable. Sparrow managed to become leader, and made Eagle her leader-to-be, although they shared power equally, essentially making them dual leaders of the Tribe of Blizzarding Snow. Once they became leaders, Lily quickly and quietly gathered a group of supporters and left the Tribe, settling in a cliffside cave overlooking the ocean under the name of the Tribe of the Setting Sun.
