Profile

A magician whose powers manifest through and are tied to the color lavender. Technically, she could learn the magical aspects of other pastels, if she tried - but intensive specialization is how she thrives! Besides, lavender is her most natural aspect... surely, if Elata was to pursue others, she'd have to rely on someone to teach her, and she certainly hates that idea.

..In general, Elata just doesn't like being around other people. She'd much rather do stuff like exchange letters than have a face to face conversation, any day - existing in physical space near another person, especially one paying direct attention to her, is pretty distressing. People nearby make her worry about all kinds of things - she has to check and re-check her clothing, she can never figure out how to hold her body 'right' - she ends up feeling defensive before anyone's even said a word to each other.

...so that's why having loads of pen pals just works out so darn great!

Elata's storyline kicks off when the physical anchor of her pocket-dimension hideout is destroyed with her inside - it WAS anchored to a single stalk of lavender in a sprawling field of flowers, and the stalk was protected with a few different bits and bobs of magic, of course, but whatever it was that happened sure wasn't stopped by any of her countermeasures. For the record, Elata doesn't have any idea what did happen to the anchor - but she sure knew when it happened, because her house started drifting into different worlds.

Her house won't leave a world without her, but Elata can't control where it goes, when it goes. It follows that maybe she should just get a new house, but Elata's had a lot of difficulty getting access to the resources to make a new pocket-hideaway and she really, really can't stand going without one.
