Elena is incredibly open to everything, always interested in meeting new people and seeing peculiar sights. If she sees anything new, she'll always without a doubt, go starry-eyed, trying to learn anything and everything about the subject. She is easily excited, and when she starts, its hard to get her to stop. She'll ramble on about the subject, sometimes making sense and other times being quite incoherent. She talks a lot, and sometimes, it can overwhelm others with her excitable nature. In short, she is quite a whirlwind. Elena rarely shys away from anything, and is the type to dive in head first. She is incredibly rash and impulsive in her words and actions. She also has no filter, and her words may sometimes make people want to smack her. Because she has never experienced true fear, she is practically fearless. Even though she prefers 'hands on' experiences more, she does like reading books as well. The books are filled with information after all, and she wants to absorb everything she can get her hands on. Elena is incredibly fascinated by magic, and wants to learn everything she can. She does have difficulty reading too long however.

Elena isn't incapable of being nervous or serious, but it is a rare sight to see. She is often so carefree and seemingly without worries that its hard to tell if she can ever be serious. She is also careless, never paying too much attention to details and can sometimes forget important events or things she has to do. She usually waves things off, which can be frustrating to others. Elena is incredibly strong-willed and confident in her beliefs. Little can change her mind, and this part of her can be quite overbearing sometimes. Because of her strong beliefs, she often can be nosy and interfere with the matters of others (which will result negatively).

Elena, despite her flaws, is well meaning and protective of those who she call friends and family. She will without a doubt, always choose her friends over anyone else. She is not compliant however, which means that if her friends were doing something wrong, she will definitely tell them and stop them. If they continue to persist, she will let them go.

Backstory

Elena was born into a rather reserved family, ironically. Her father and mother were both quiet, but they loved Elena with all their being. They did, however, often joke about who really birthed Elena, being the polar opposites of her parents as she was. When Elena was three, her parents brought home a little brother for her. His name was Ethan, and she adored him. As they grew, so did their injuries. Elena was a nightmare for any parents, always going out and 'exploring' while coming home bruised and dirty. Ethan would always tag along, shy and quiet while clinging onto his big sister's hand. While Ethan inevitably dragged her down in her adventures, he also protected her in a way, making her more considerate and think more before doing reckless things lest he gets injured. Her parents always ended up quite exasperated by her shenanigans, but life was great.

One day however, Elena showed potential for magic and everything changed. To be more exact, her parents were well aware that she had an infinity with fire ever since they first noticed a fire growing just a bit bigger whenever Elena was nearby. They were concerned, but kept it to themselves. But this incident showed Elena she had potential, and she was star strucked by the possibilities. She was 14 then (and had also been very very bored).

Her parents sat her down and explained to her about everything. Turned out, both her father and mother had magic too! They had just kept a low profile, and anytime they used magic at home, it was subtle, completely flying over Elena's head. After talking, they came to an agreement. Elena would attend Luna Arcana when she was 17, despite her parent's reluctance to part. And Ethan... Ethan was devastated and incredibly clingy for the next few months. Despite this, Elena only looked forward, eager to attend the school of magic. She knew Ethan and her family was unhappy, but she tried to not take note of it. She was willing to turn a blind eye to it.

Her father gave her a few old books, which Elena tried to zoom through (unsuccessfully). Elena had so many questions, and they overwhelmed her parents to the point that they had to limit one question per day. Of course, she tried to spend time with her brother too, and cheered him up with the promise that he could come someday too. She didn't like seeing her little brother so upset, and so she read everything she could and told him many stories of magic and adventure, hoping he'd get excited too. He didn't, though he seemed to try to show interest for his sister. Time passed quickly. She was incredibly excited, but on the day she had to cross the Gateway (which her father had found) she found herself unbearably sad.

Embarrassingly enough, she turned around and ran back to them. She cried and clung to her family. It took a while before she was finally willingly to step through, and the whole time, she continued to look back at her family shrinking in the distance.
