Floralys

She had been hesitant to manifest herself. After all, last time she ever interacted with a mortal was a long time ago. She tried to participate in the Spring Rally. Yet, aside from chilling with Theon and some others, and voting during the last sparring competition, she had barely showed herself.

However, there was something that she wanted to do for a long time now. At the border of the Birch Forest was a birch tree occupied by a healer (Alpha). The latter had been trying to save a patient (Zak). Something about a deadly illness that was uncurable. Or at least, as of now. Said healer had been working hard on a remedy, but she had only been able to reduce the symptoms, so far. She started growing her own plants near her den, so to avoid going too far to get some more.

Now that she was allowed to do whatever she felt was necessary, Flora decided to grow more plants in that small garden. Hopefully, that would be enough to help the situation. If not, then the deity was ready to do more for them.

It was the first time Flora ever appeared in her physical form. After so long observing the Forest from afar, they finally gave her the permission to act as she pleased. The wolf was her choice of appearance, for it was a symbol of guardianship. It was also a contrast to the Twin Gods, whose physical forms were those of deers.

From world to world, she had traveled, in search for a place where she could belong. She wanted to become an important deity. More important than the creatures back in her homeland wanted her to be. They rejected her because of her mistakes. Because she was far from perfect. And yet, they're the ones who created her. The ones who wanted her to be this way.

When she found the Endless Forest, she was like a little kid who was still growing and learning. A young spirit looking for guidance. They understood her, welcomed her into their everlasting realm. For a long time, she watched its inhabitants and recurrent visitors living their lives. Although the Twin Gods taught her some things, they wanted her to learn on her own.

Today was her first day inside her new body. Such a strange feeling. She could walk, run, jump, dance... She hadn't been able to do any of that for so many years, she had forgotten how fun it could be! There wasn't much to do, however. She grew a few flowers here and there, yet quickly became bored. Perhaps mingling with the other creatures would be a good way to pass time. Bonding was essential, after all.

She sat in a flower patch to rest for a while, before taking a stroll around the Forest. She came across two creatures (Theon and Malachi) who seemed to be relaxing together. Oh, right, the Spring Rally!, she recalled. Indeed, the event had just begun, and some were apparently hosting activities. This one was all about relaxing and listening, from what she understood. Not really what she was hoping to do today, but it was tempting nevertheless. For some strange reason, doing that with others felt better than by herself.

History:

There is only speculation as to where it all came from, but one day, rumors started floating around a small village. They said that, if you were to cut or destroy plants for the wrong reasons, a lady in reddish brown dress with red flowers on her head would appear and curse you. Some witnesses, however, claimed to have been blessed by her, for protecting plants and taking care of them.

As time went on, variants of these stories surfaced, due to people passing them on to their relatives and friends. And thanks to the magic of internet and distant communication, the urban legend eventually spread world wide. While some remained skeptical, more and more people became convinced she was real. The number of testimonies grew over the years — from heartwarming miracles to dreadful demises. However, unbeknownst to them all, it was their collective belief that led to her actual existence.

Among fake photos and videos, emerged real ones — albeit differientiating them proved difficult. By the time she became one of the most popular urban legend figures, she already had small groups of worshippers from all around the world. And, as a reward for their devotion, she would appear to them and bond with them. Since she was only known as "the Flower Lady" at the time, they named her "Floralys" (or "Yūka" in some cultures). Shaped by the stories they invented, she was both feared and respected by many.

Of course, she was unexperienced, since her birth was recent. And with no other deity to guide her, she kept making mistakes. Unfortunately, because of superstition, the people also gave her credit for bad things that weren't even her doing. It didn't bother her much at first, for she enjoyed the terror even her name alone could provoke. Yet one day, they found out that she wasn't as ancient and powerful than they initally thought. And because of her now-terrifying reputation, they strived to get rid of her. Together, using an incantation she couldn't fend off, they banished her forever.

Unable to go back, she went from world to world to find a new home where she would be needed. She never knew how they learnt about her true origins, but she suspected one of her most devout worshippers to have betrayed her. Thus, she cut ties with the ones that were still able to contact her, and tried to move on. However, the more she traveled, the more she realized the true nature of the human race. Such ungrateful beings! Nature catered to all their needs, and how do they thank Her? By destroying Her, polluting the air, hunting the animals for sports and skins, killing the planet... How could they live like this without remorse?

The only human-free worlds she had found had no use for her, sadly. She was starting to lose hope, when she finally came across a beautiful place called "the Endess Forest". The Twins Gods welcomed her with open arms and taught her self-reflection. No longer forced to appear human, she chose the wolf as her physical form, and seized her second chance to become the perfect goddess of nature she desired to be.
