Mari

A member of a curious group of birds with a somewhat froggy life cycle. They begin life as small, passerine-like birds that are capable of flight and inclined to migrate. Over time, they metamorphose into their adult forms, undergoing many significant changes in the process, the most strenuous of all being the development of hands, larger muscles, and a tail. Sometimes they maintain their flying or gliding capability, but most of them are grounded. Mira is very standard!

Mari is a mailbird that uses her impressive bulk to deliver packages throughout Kanawe Vil (Canary City) and beyond. Most of her work is benign, but she's renowned by certain groups for her quick and surprisingly discreet services, plus her ability to hold her own should someone attempt to "intercept" a package. This means she has unprecedented access to certain juicy secrets (if those secrets are in letter form). She only has a bit of an ego about it, though. She also occasionally competes in local fighting rings for profit and/or fun.

She is childhood friends with Ali and knows him better than anyone else, save for his mother.
