Charles Azure

This is Charles, Iris' dad. He’s a pretty happy guy on most occasions, but he’s prone to panicking and snaps at the wrong people. Worrying is a curse in his life that he’s still learning to cope with, having been diagnosed with a generalized anxiety disorder in his mid-twenties; it used to be a lot worse, worrying about every little thing - outcomes, deadlines, how many ways his kid can get killed whilst she’s out of his sight. He’s also relatively clumsy and his concentration is lacking (thank you very much, Irlen’s Syndrome) which makes his life that little bit trickier… but day-to-day he carefully plots ways around what’s thrown at him, copes with being a single working dad, and honestly just making it through the day without an accident is good enough. He’s in a good place, performing a job that he loves, and although lifecould be better he’s not going to complain.

Charles is a painter for a small art business located in an old radio tower in the English countryside, but because Kandi’s mum’s not on the scene he often has to take the little tyke into work with him; being on his fifth year at the business, the tower is like a second home to her. Charles sees himself as nothing special, but in his daughter’s little world he’s a magical wizard who works at a big enchanted tower, capturing colours and using them to make brand new worlds and creations.

But over-all, the most important thing in his life has and will always be his child. He’s still not an A+ dad, but he damn-well loves his little candy-coated ball of joy and learns from her every single day.
