Bronte grew up in the rigid world of competitive gymnastics with discipline, control, and suffocation. While battling internalised shame around her queerness, she hit a breaking point and walked away from it all. Growing up with three older brothers only made things worse. They were allowed freedom, messiness, and individuality in ways she never was, and she still carries resentment over the impossible expectations placed on her as “the daughter.” She never gave her mother, or anyone else, the chance to react. Instead, she built a new life where she defines the rules, and parkour became her outlet. Freedom, to Bronte, is wearing what she wants, loving who she wants, and dangling her legs over the city at sunset with no one telling her to come down.
