BonBon

BonBon is 1/3 of a clown trio that travels with Circus Funtasia. She specialises in balloon artistry and slapstick humour. Her character never speaks during shows, a soundboard of cartoony sound effects is used for her instead. Her stage name is FunDip and her onstage persona is very over the top and exaggerated however she is actually rather shy, introverted and reserved in reality.

BonBon was really poor as a child, she was an orphan and she was never adopted so she felt very lonely and sad throughout her childhood. One day when she was 10 the orphanage went on a trip to the circus as it was very rare that it came into town, she saw how fun it looked and how happy everyone seemed and from then on she dreamt of being with them. She would put on performances for her stuffed animals and the staff, the staff would laugh and tell her that her performances were better than the circus. At 14 she got access to the internet and she would spend all her time watching videos of clowns and the circus, she ended up falling in love with the makeup and outfits too. Then at 17 the circus was back in town, she wasn't a little kid anymore so they didn't allow her to go, she took a step back and looked at her situation. She had only a year left to be adopted and the big kids never get chosen, nobody even looked her way when she was young. She had no friends, no money, no family- the staff didn't spend time with her anymore. She had nothing to lose and everything to gain, she packed her things (which fit into 2 small bags) and ran away. She went to the latest showing at the circus and after everyone left she walked up to the ringmaster, she told him about how much she loved the show, how much she wanted to have what they have. He noticed her bags and sad eyes so he invited her to the back where the rest of the performers were packing up. They sat down and he asked her about her life and she told him everything. He gave her a chance to prove herself, let her stay with them, provided her with costume and makeup, he gave her 5 days to write a short routine which she'd perform for the crew. It ended up going amazingly, the crew were laughing and smiling and clapping and cheering. It was perfect! They accepted her and thus she was a member of Circus Funtasia. Funfetti, one of the other clowns, took her under her wing and they soon became close friends. She was happy, she had a home, she had a family (literally, they all soon learned that BonBon was actually their sister!)
