Growing up in a Drow society, Rook was trained from a young age to be a guard for his kingdom. However, shortly before he was to receive his 'Adult' name, his kingdom was taken over and his kingdom was disbanded. He, not being part of the Queen's guard, was given two choices by the attackers after they decided the majority of the kingdom was to be allowed mercy. Rook was told he could either stay, and drop his rank as a guard until he was deemed trustworthy under the new leadership, or leave. He chose the latter, swearing one day he'd return to live a normal life with his people. He was gifted his Adult name by another, older, guard who had likewise decided to leave. Shortly after they split ways, and Rook hasn't seen the guard since. 

It has been about a century since his leave, and he has picked up just about every criminal trick and scheme in the book. Being trained in combat, living mostly in the dark, and having no real connections to anyone has made him a perfect assassin. Rook has done many jobs since his official discharge, and doesn't mind being hired to kill. He tries to keep contact to a minimum, but, as of the last few months, he has met up with a Pyromancer mage known as 'Prometheus' after a job gone sour. The job only went sour due to their contact selling them both out, however, despite this, they still completed the task. The client never paid, so they both teamed up on their own for revenge. They decided to team up, and have since been causing more than a few unsolved murders, several unidentifiable arsons, and several other crimes as not just friends, but partners.
