Lark lives to be a disappointment to her parents, her every action and life choice carefully chosen to deviate for their hopes and dreams for her.
Daughter to an arch mage, and gifted with magic from childhood, she was very much expected to use her gifts to carry on and assist with her mother's research. Lark never vibed with this however, running away from home and joining the a theatre troupe seemed like the most rebellious thing she could possibly do instead.

Many years later, during fateful visit to a fortune teller, Lark was horrified to find she had suddenly blacked out and murdered an old woman, at least that's what the horrible entity in the tent was telling her. It had appeared out of nowhere, offering to grant her power, no catch, just simply because it had her best interests at heart.
Out of shock she could not bring herself to speak to the terrifying figure, but it forged a pact with her anyway.
So Lark was a warlock, with troubling new abilities.

She fled the scene of the crime, and did her best to forget about what happened.
