Short-tempered and unpredictable, if something sets Kaneki off he will snap and shout without thinking. He has a hard time watching people do or say bad things, and so always steps in. Loudly. At some point his friend Roshan made him the muzzle mask that he now always wears. It doesn't actually hold his mouth closed, but it reminds Kaneki to hold his tongue while he continues his journey towards gaining self-restraint. He enjoys working with flowers because they cannot speak, and therefore cannot upset him. He often donates flowers to charity events and hospital patients.
