History:

The coastal areas of North America, both east and west were considered the safest, and an optimal place for raising children. Like most orphans, Olive was found in the wilds and taken to a human settlement. Rather than being raised in individual families, children were all housed in one building and taken care of by the whole village. As they got older, they'd . Olive herself was found in the rusted remains of a car, swaddled in an old trench coat and screaming. She was given a childhood as normal as the others, but she needed more attention and supervision than was available. Thus she took to roaming the streets of the village, then its outskirts, then the farmers' fields, and finally the forest. It was strictly forbidden for children to leave the village at all, but Olive was able to slip past the busy adults and her tattling peers. She wandered farther and farther away, until she got lost in the mountains. Deep in the mountains was a system of caverns into which she fell and got lost. Now she not only had to find a way out, but also avoid the strange monsters and giants that lived in the ground.
