Oakstrike is a lean tabby tom with ragged dark brown fur and strong back legs. His eyes are newleaf grass green.

Personality

Oakstrike is your stereotypical scaredy-cat, he's constantly worried about what others think of him, which gets in the way of him living to his full potential. Around Shadowclan he usually keeps his head low and his thoughts to himself, but during gatherings he is much more social and cheerful, especially with cats he doesn't know.

Background

Oakkit was kitted to Ratseed and Aldereye, who died during a boarder dispute before the kitting, along with Spiderkit and two kits who died during kitting. As a kit, him and his brother proved to be curious and adventurous, constantly running around camp and exploring every nook and cranny. One day, rogues invaded the camp, so all the kits were to be kept in the nursery; Oakkit stayed near the entrance to watch the fighting ensue. Then he heard kits screaming deep in the nursery, when he went to investigate, he found all the kits were gone, he was the only kit left. Shortly after the rogues retreated, and Oakkit's mom came back to the nursery to find only he remained, the entire clan interrogated him about what happened. Thornstar, the Shadowclan leader at the time, decided that Oakkit's apprenticeship would begin early. During his apprenticeship, his relationship with his mother deteriorated, as she believed he was to blame for the disappearance, and eventually he began to believe it himself. Less than a moon after Oakpaw became an apprentice, Thornstar is hit by a monster and dies; his deputy, Lightear, becomes leader. Lightstar tells Ratseed to go on a patrol with Oakpaw and his mentor, but she refuses, and demands that Oakpaw be banished for letting the other kits disappear. When he refuses to, she leaves Shadowclan forever. With his family gone, and the low amount of cats left in the clan, Oakstrike feels lonelier than ever in Shadowclan.
