he was JMA student! In The Silver Winglet:]] (after the  plot of arc 2&3) Later he run away and met Loon & Whisper 

Very apprehensive & jumpy. 24/7 nervous ball of scales and tears - becouse of that he has some self harm problems (gnawing on his tail, scratching it and hitting it into various objects. That's why it's so patched up with scars). Often dissociates - all those disorders are caused by PTSD. He is working on it tho! 

he can be sassy and ironic (while still being extremely nervous)

He is the only child (well one more is coming) of two royal cooks in Thorn's palace (which explains rather unusual name for sandwing). They love him very much, and worried about his mental state, they've decided to send him to this intertribal school (to make friends/socialise/see other places).

In dangerous situations or while facing a very stressful situation he can be agressive/attack 

He is often cold, and doesn't produce much warmth.
