Torn from the sea in the twisted net of a trawler vessel, Kepp's introduction to the surface world was less than polite. Netting and metal refuse to yield to a siren's song after all, and the men aboard already hardened by years on the sea were hardly cooperative either. It took several months before their song ever met the ears of a softer mind, by that time they'd already transferred to a research facility specialising in deep ocean life. A place they'd remain under wavering supervision, studying the strange creatures on the other side of the glass just as much as they poked and prodded at them in return.
It was there that Kepp learned the difference between minds easily persuaded, and ones steadfast in stubborness. They became familiar with the researchers they could get close to, the ones that'd turn a blind-yet fascinated- eye to their curious explorative trips through the sterile labs. Those same faces that'd teach as much as they took, introducing Kepp to several languages, cultures, and most favourable; foods.
A clear favourite among the staff they gradually earned their freedom to wander to and from the facility, but never too far into densely populated areas. Their size and overall appearance still an unwelcome sight to those unfamiliar with their gentle disposition- something curated out of a necessity to live amongst creatures much more fragile than themself. Occassionally they'll be sighted by a passing ship, or lonely fisherman on the pier.

Skin is sorta rough, like a shark! Palms are slightly smoother
Has dark, almost black nictitating membranes! Only their pupils are visible through them
Body type appears average, but muscles are firm under the skin!
Horn is lightly rounded and blunt in their humanoid form!
A gentle giant with a possessive and protective mean streak
Due to hybridisation, their song isn't nearly as potent as a trueblood siren
Keeps their voice subdued to whispers and mumbles regardless, and rarely sings even alone
Their multiple forms aren't restricted to their environment, but choices
Doesn't like to show their teeth, even choosing to eat in private
Similarly restricts any movements or features that appear "scary"
Is much, much older than they look, but nobody knows their exact age
Dangerously offended at being referred to as a "thing/monster"
