Mixed Morals and Metaphors

Yumai is one of many among the Soul Legion. The organization aims recapture lost souls and send them to the correct afterlife, though through the ages their motives and supposedly non-biased opinions have been rather... spotty. The Guardians among them aren't aware of this though; since they've been trained and manipulated from the age of five, most of them know either nothing or don't know how to escape.

Crime and Punishment

Although talented at using her vessel, Yumai wasn't special enough to avoid a consequence from slacking off. The first time she had her spirit crystal taken away was only for a day and a half, but it was enough for her to develop a terror of ever disappointing the council again. Fear kept her going for a while, but gradually a sense of emptiness and doubts about her own existence prompted a relapse into her old habits and a second suspension from reality. It only worsened the effect. The girl went through years of going through the motions and came to the conclusion that there would be no escape from her life and her responsibilities.

Things are about to get worse, unfortunately. Yumai harvested the soul of a living aberrant monster, and she's terrified of the consequences that await her when she returns.

Acquantainces

Taesora- When Yumai emerged from darkness and nothing to light again, this was the first person she saw. Taesora helped her through everything; Yumai loves her like a goddess, and does her best to impress. She's very disappointed when Sora chooses others over her, and even more disappointed by those who don't respect her lady's wishes.
