  • okay all I know about kikyo is she might either be LITERALLY created by orochimaru during his experiment era (what a silly guy) in an effort to tamper with kekkei genkai, resulting in... Her™, or she's a little girl he stole off the streets and experimented on with the same idea, either way, she's tied to him and has a very complicated relationship with orochimaru. even more so in the modern era where he's mostly working on reformation and making up for the shit he did.
  • EDIT: YEAH NVM WENT WITH THE FIRST IDEA. so she's his first attempt at creating a synthetic human. just, it went out of hand and he didn't go back to the concept until WAY later. don't ask me how this birthed a creepy plant girl.
  • anyway, kikyo is a freaky little botanical body horror girl! she has little flowers blooming over her right eye so she's fucking blind there, it probably changes with the seasons. she has long black hair and I like to imagine it's very "Yamato Nandeshiko"-esque, so she has the appearance of a beautiful, doll like and proper little Japanese woman, but if you see the side of her face with the flowering, she's fucking terrifying.

  • anyway, her jutsus are all based around utilizing plants and anything else related to it. im picturing like, thorns coming out of the ground to tie people down, her strongest abilities to root people to the ground and slowly turn them into a part of the forest. all the beauty and terror of the garden and it's a single woman.
  • she likes bunnies, I dunno how id incorporate it into things but yee. she also wants centipede theming cause of the innate spiritual corruption.
  • kikyo was named by orochimaru, choosing one of the seven fall flowers. I feel like this is one of those "orochimaru has a soft part to him but it isn't showing cause it's under a pile of needles" things lol
  • she was definitely working with him and the rest of the sound village, but I'm not sure how things pan out. I just. made this oc. she wanted to exist. I have so much fucking lore to look at. god.
  • but I do like the image of she took over one of the hideouts as this horrifically overgrown garden fest. with lots and lots of fun botanical traps for people trying to sneak in. shes kinda giving hanahiko from death mark.
  • I should draw her on that one cg. anyway.
  • with kakashi I feel like he and a group of other Shinobi found her, doing separate work to find survivors in the hideouts after orochimaru is mostly inactive. it was a fuckin fight to get her out of there. medics couldn't figure out how to take care of her either. it was kind of a mess.
  • integrating her into society is weird because this is a woman mostly used as a weapon who only knows what she can do to hurt or ensure others; seeing the effect her appearance and abilities has on other people puts her at odds with herself, preferring to hide away, but as she gets more acclimated to Konoha, she comes off as more awkward and overly curious
  • she and kakashi are smooching idc. she takes a special interest in him due to being the first person to want more for her beyond her concept, and while he's kinda put off by her, he loves his weird wife. I would have more but this girl is rambling. I also feel like she's taller. wig.
  • with orochimaru her bond with him is more "complicated father-daughter relationship" than say "scientist and his special project". he really fucking cultivated her and put time into her, and she served him loyally, not knowing anything else. but she's terrified of him for how he viewed her and his other subjects, he loves them but he wasn't afraid to sacrifice them for his goals. so in the new era when he's all chill, having fun, making more kids (siblings?), it throws her off. she doesn't know how to feel. but I feel like she wants to be in mitsukis life, despite the trauma she endured.
