Personality: Lavender Moonbeam appears quiet and lonely, and is rare to come across unless you know where to find her. She is shy in a way that makes her look anti-social, but she's really just slightly socially awkward and a little slow in the head sometimes; she's not used to talking to many people. She is nocturnal and will sleep mostly during the day. Her eyes are brown at night, but during the day they appear to have a rather reddish tint to them [which might frighten other ponies at first glance]. She is kind-hearted and has a very calming energy about her that affects others when they're around her. No one fears the darkness or the night when they are in her presence long enough. When she isn't sleeping, she also loves to indulge in sweets and fly around.

How she got her cutie mark: Lavender Moonbeam was a slightly frustrated young filly as she couldn't figure out what she could possibly be good at to earn her Cutie Mark. Eventually she gave up putting so much thought in to it and continued to live her lazy, peaceful days in the quiet, grassy parts of Ponyville. A few years passed, and one night, her new friend Delta Ray was trotting the fields in search for Lavender, as she had a gift to give her. Lavender was up in a tree. She watched as Delta Ray appeared to become progressively frightened of the darkness and the random sounds she was hearing around her. Once Lavender clued in, she dropped down to greet her friend [which caused Delta to freak out from being startled]. Delta was so frightened, she almost started to cry. Lavender comforted her and assured her that nothing could possibly harm her where they were. It didn't take long before Delta calmed down and realized she was safe and no longer lost as long as she was with her friend. Delta gave her gift to Lavender. It was a pale blue butterfly necklace, and Lavender loved it and has worn it since. Afterwards, Lavender led Delta out of the darkness and into the brighter parts of Ponyville [where there were streetlights]. As Lavender flew up to her home in Cloudsdale, she noticed her Cutie Mark had appeared: a half moon with a butterfly wing attached. It symbolized her inner kindness and love of the night, as well as her ability to calm others that might be afraid...
