Lilith is a half human, half Lux. As an infant, she was kidnapped by the Nyxian army to be nurtured towards becoming a Noctus, a formerly human creature that was blessed by the Nyx with dark powers. Little did she know that her encounter with a strange boy named Jeanne, and a Lux who mysteriously spared her life, would send her on a journey that would shift the tides and eventually stop the holy war that razed the world.

About

Traits

Indifferent Lilith was initially indifferent, nonchalant, and unopinionated towards most things. She only wanted to do as she was told, and had no real view towards herself or anything around her.

Cruel Lilith was also cruel, but naturally so. She was raised in a Nest within the castle of Belphegor, where she was trained to become a Noctus, a former human who was granted dark, immense power by the Nyx.

Inquisitive The one redeeming trait which helped Lilith set off on her revolutionary journey, Lilith eventually became inquisitive enough to learn more about her past and find ways to end the war everyone was caught up in.

Developments Lilith eventually evolved and became compassionate, caring, and kind. All feelings which she was able to learn thanks to Jeanne.

Likes

Human Suffering As Lilith is a Noctling that feeds off of negative human emotions, the suffering of mankind initially brought her the most joy. This, however, would eventually turn into something she despises.

Turtles A very unpopular fact about Lilith is that she likes turtles. She came across a small, hidden turtle pond deep in the forest of Loch Ard as a young child, and they've fascinated her ever since. She does not openly share this, and only visits the turtle pond in her lonesome.

Jaunne After developing a bond with the blue-eyed boy, Lilith began to see Jaunne as an interesting person. She callshim the "strangest, yet most interesting creature on this planet." Her interest towards Jaunne, however, isn't necessarily romantic. She sees him as a rarity, since Jaunne is the very piece that shifted her values and view towards the war.

Skills

Knife-Throwing Lilith focused on training her knife-throwing skills, as she could only manifest solid Dark Ley in spikes. This meant that she had to throw her Ley at opponents with accuracy and speed, as she wasn't able to produce her Reaver blades at the time. Even after attaining the ability to create her Reaver Blades, she still uses this skill to throw smaller Dark Ley spikes.

Swordsmanship Lilith eventually learns to use the sword later on, as she was then able to create solidified Dark Ley in long sharp curves. She would eventually name this ability "Reaver Blades," as they come closest to looking and feeling like swords.

Call of The Void As a Noctling, Lilith is capable of swaying and persuading regular humans. Producing Dark Ley-imbued sound waves, Lilith can tempt and command regular humans to do anything that she wishes. This ability does not work on celestials, and the Blessed humans have found ways to counter it. An interesting fact is that the soundwaves used in Call of The Void resonates deep into the human soul; meaning they cannot plug their ears or cover them to stop it.

Luxian Ley Lilith doesn't discover that she posseses Luxian powers until later on during her revolution during the war. Luxian Ley is pure and powerful, even slightly more powerful than Dark Ley. Luxian Ley often emanates a bright and pure white hue of light, especially when in use.

Story

Lore

Before Helius first created the universe, it was merely a vast expense of emptiness. That’s all it was, and that is all it ever seemed to be. Until one day, he surmised that this cosmic puzzle lacked one very important piece. Life. The very pinnacle of all His creations. His most profound work. He held in his palms a stone floating in the dark space He created, and breathed life into its still waters. First the birds in the sky above, then legged creatures walking the earth below. Then came the people, of which He desired to live in His image. He gave this floating stone a name. Earth. The benevolent Helius had many plans for Earth. But Aamon, The Dark King, had plans of his own. As humanity grew, so did the seeds of evil which he planted. Greed. Envy. Wrath. Lust. Pride. Gluttony, and Sloth. With the first bite from the tree of wisdom, The Dark King knew that his plans had already been set in motion.

Earth. Helius’s sadness. Helius’s regrets. He shouldn’t have given the people so much freedom if He truly wanted them to live in His image. As society grew upon the green, green grass, so did the roots of evil underneath it. The more humanity gained the freedom to think, the more their ambitions were too difficult to control. The Earth fell into sin, and as it drowned underneath it, there was nowhere else for life to swim to. Evil scoured every corner of the world, and one day Helius decided it was too ugly for His eyes to gaze upon. He could not even bother to end all of the misery that infected it to its core. And so, he sent his Luxes to cleanse it. Aamon, however, had already built an army of his own. He would not let his kingdom collapse so easily. A Holy War broke out, and humanity was caught in the crossfire. People picked their sides, and the very few who walked with the light united to create the last stand of Helius’s humanity. The Last Eden, a holy city beyond the firmament.

They were called the Noctus. Once human, and now blessed by Aamon’s essence, they are considered powerful creatures. A select few are even stronger than Nyxes themselves. They were apex soldiers admired by the High Council. The Greater Nyxes praised their grotesque work, giving them more of their everlasting power and wealth.

As the Dark King’s empire grew, he took a step farther to draft more into his army. He knew he needed to keep Earth out of Helius’s hands. His first plan to fill the world with evil had already succeeded. It was time to set another in motion. He ordered every Nyx and Noctus to capture what was left of the infants outside of The Last Eden, with the intention to raise Noctlings who would eventually grow loyal to him and his army.

At this point, humans and celestials had been divided into several societies.

The Pieces, are humans who live their lives unaware of the unseen holy war which razes the Earth.

The Enlightened, are humans who are aware of the holy war, and are secretly participating in it as either spies or combatants.

The Blessed are those who have received a piece of a Nyx or Lux’s power. However, they’re merely humans utilizing granted items or abilities they don’t own.

The Lumus and The Noctus were exceptionally good, and exceptionally evil humans which were granted immense power of their own, by either a Lux or a Nyx.

Lumings and Noctlings were infants that were trained and raised to fight the holy war as key players, born and sworn into the code of the side they were taken into. These children would eventually become Nocti and Lumi.

The Greater Nyxes and Archluxes are the most powerful creatures next to the kings they serve. Before the great rebellion that Aamon caused in the Aether, all of the Greater Nyxes and Archluxes served Helius as one fellowship. Aamon was once an Archlux, who discovered that negative human emotions could generate more power than faith and prayer. These were called the Ley.

The demi-spirits and their fledgling counterparts could both cause calamities and miracles to happen, influencing humans to do great evil or good in immense ways While faith, love, and prayers empowered Helius's army, Aamon's army fed on and caused human negativity. Because of the evil which filled the earth, the dark army managed to somehow pit against Helius's empire of light.

Types of Ley

Different kinds of Ley manifest depending on the class and human emotion that empowers a celestial.

Wispy, Diluted - This type is the common manifestation of Ley. This is a general essence which is used in combat, which all celestials and demi-celestials can use. Wispy and diluted Key are often rough manifestations of positive or negative human emotions turned into aura. Opposite celestials coming to contact with Ley from the other side is harmful to them, as it is generally incompatible with their composition.

Variants - There are many different variations between the type of Ley a celestial/demi-celestial can manifest. The texture of their aura will depend on the emotion they feed on / the emotion that empowers them. Passionate emotions such as rage or love are more prone to generation flame-like concentrated Ley, while cold emotions could manifest steel, or cryo/hydro aura. Several figures in the holy war have very unique Ley.

Prologue

Hidden castles were built in each great nation, named after the Greater Nyxs which ruled the domain surrounding them. There were also smaller structures scattered throughout the country, called Temples.

Deep in the heart of Loch Ard, England, an off-world castle stands in a desolate forest surrounded by vast greenery. The Castle of Belphegor. And among the young souls and ancient spirits who walk the halls of this stronghold, one of them flickers with a different flame.

Lilith is one of the prodigal Noctlings. Twisted and evil to the core. She is cold, almost void of any real emotion. As much as you could read a person, gazing into her eyes would feel no different from walking in complete darkness.

Training to become a Noctus of sorrow, Lilith fed off of human despair and sadness. She feeds off of human suffering, with the ability to influence emotional crises within the human heart. She contributes to the Depression, Agony, and Anxiety that the world is blighted with alongside her fellow Noctlings of the same class.

One day, Lilith roams a little too close to the borders of The Last Eden and encounters a Lux (Izmael). Noctlings are still part human, despite the great power they were blessed with. To the Noctus, a Lux is a force not to trifle with. Much less the Noctlings.

Lilith was overpowered, her frail structure smashed through walls and kicked into the earth below. She stood no chance against the creature of light, and was prepared to accept her fate. But just as the holy creature raised his sword to slice her in half, he stopped.

“You’re on the wrong side of this war, Lilith.”

As the Lux shot back towards the sky, Lilith was left wondering why she was spared, with barely a breath of life left in her. What did he mean by that, exactly? How does he know me?

Origin Summary

Lilith is the child of Mirael and Earl Warwick, both of which come from separate worlds. Earl Warwick was a writer and philanthropist who soon joined the Luxian forces to help free the world from the Nyx’s reign. Using his silver-tongued charisma, Earl became a commander among the Blessed, praised by the Lux who acknowledged his contribution.

Earl was so charismatic, that he even reached the heart of one, a Lux named Mirael. Mirael was also among those who fought against the Nyx in the front lines. As the heavenly war raged on, its flames finally reached the stronghold that the two resided in. Nyxes and Nocti both overwhelmed the Luxian forces, pushing the two into what seemed to be a dead end.

In the final moments of the siege, Mirael and Earl decided to commit an act of Luxian taboo in secrecy: They procured a half-Lux, half-human infant. In tears, Mirael took Earl’s arm, using the flesh to bring forth new life, breathing her essence into it. That is how Lilith was born.

Time was running out, and they eventually realized that they had no chances of escape. At least, not all of them.

With one last act of bravery, Mirael opened a translocation portal and fought against the advancing forces of the Nyxian army to buy time. She was willing to finally sacrifice her life to save both her child and lover. However, the escape didn’t go just as planned.

And her sacrifice was half in vain. The child in the only arm Earl could fight with was taken from him right before the portal was able to completely close. Mirael was killed, and their child was taken. Right before her death, she used the last of her energy to conceal the Luxian aura which Lilith possessed, at least deceiving the Nyx into thinking that she was merely a human child.

Unaware that they had claimed a demi-Lux, the Nyx placed Lilith under the care of Belphegor, a greater Nyx whose castle stood at the heart of Loch Ard. From that point on, Lilith was raised and trained in a part of the castle called “The Nest,” which served as a sort of training and growth center for noctlings.

Growth and Initial Powers

When Lilith was first granted her Noctus powers, the Luxian Ley that was stored in her eyes to conceal her true identity caused a violent reaction with the dark Ley that the Nyx imbued into her. This almost killed her, the conflicting powers causing the Nyxian aura to leak out of her eyes in the form of black markings. As if she cried black tears.

Those markings stayed with her as she grew. This caused a rare side effect, which gave her the ability to manipulate a more “raw” and direct variant of Ley. (Since they were partially left outside of her spirit.)

Unlike most Noctlings who had their dark Ley completely and properly imbued inside them, Lilith’s Ley was slightly exposed due to the rejection of the Luxian magic. This meant that she was actively able to handle a more concentrated portion, effectively making her a stronger Noctling than most.

The usual Noctling was able to manipulate the standard wispy ley, hurling it and willing it to move in any direction they wish. Due to Lilith’s abnormality, she’s able to directly access the power as a form of solid. When in use, the black ley would leak out of her eyes in teardrops (through the marks,) flowing and spiraling around her arms before she could hold them in a similar manner one would hold throwing knives. (In between her fingers.)

The disadvantage of her potent Ley is that it was solid, and she could not will it to move in any direction. She had to utilize her Ley like throwing knives, throwing shards with her strength in order for them to reach their target.

Turning Point

Eventually, after her strange encounter with the Lux who mysteriously spared her life, Lilith would come to meet a boy named Jaunne. It started off as one of her tasks to further taint the world with evil, supposedly killing off Jaunne and starting a riot in the surrounding towns of Loch Ard. But as she got to know Jaunne further, she discovered that he was a special human; one pure of heart, and truly kind.

Affected, Lilith questioned the side of the war she was fighting for. She began to feel a sense of what was right, and what was wrong. And for the first time in her life, Lilith felt that what she was doing was wrong.

Lilith is eventually shaken and develops a sense of justice. Now aware of the flaws of both sides- The Lux killing off all Nyx and humans to cleanse the world, and the Nyx influencing evil across the world to keep Aamon’s rule superior- the two set off to revolt against both sides, and find a way for the war to end in complete peace. Without costing the life Helius created.

Power Developments

Eventually, in one life-threatening battle, Lilith’s powers evolve. Instead of just seeping teardrop Ley, Lilith is able to produce solidified Ley for a longer period of time. This meant that she was able to create bigger, extended pieces. With this new capacity, Lilith is able to create sword-length blades of raw dark Ley, using them as melee weapons instead of small throwables.

Lilith’s strongest form is unnamed, as it is a combination of her Ley Shroud and the Luxian Ley. Instead of black, Lilith is surrounded by a white, shining Ley ON TOP of her Ley Shroud. Her eyes and horns glow white, and so do the markings in her face. (They also swirl into a helix pattern as they crawl down each side of her face.) She grows wings, and her hair floats upwards, almost as if gravity does not apply to it. This is her most powerful form, as she is able to fully release her Dark and Light Ley simultaneously, mixing both powers.

Potential Story Developments (That Can Be Expanded On)

Lilith and Jaunne both find out that Aamon plans to create an unstoppable, sentient weapon. Aamon calls this weapon the “Skyender.” The weapon is supposedly a more powerful and colossal version of Lilith, combining the Ley of deceased Lux and Nyx into an artificially forged vessel.

The Skyender is supposedly more powerful than Helius and Aamon themselves, and was supposed to be remotely controlled by Aamon’s magic. However, as Aamon and Lilith’s team finally confront each other to battle, The Skyender malfunctions and turns against everyone- including its creator.

The Skyender kills Aamon, finishing him off after all of the work Lilith and her team put into trying to defeat him. Exhausted and afraid, they face The Skyender head-on, with the help of a weakened Helius.

Peace is achieved by Helius’s agreement with Lilith. For saving his life, Lilith demands to spare the surrendering Nyxian army and stop the planned cleansing of humans, and to give the Nyx a chance for redemption by retreating into the Aether, Helius’s kingdom.

The surrendering Nyx are taken back to the Aether, where they have to serve a sentence of atonement, before being destroyed and reborn as Lux.

Although evil from within the human heart can still happen, at least there will be no evil force to develop it towards a destructive scale. The Blessed humans do their best to police what’s left of the evil side of humanity.
