annalise lived a relatively normal life in her hometown of corpus christi, texas. that is, if one ignores the heart defect which her mother insisted she'd grow out of.

she didn't.

the untreated defect killed her at the age of eight, and, in death, she felt abandoned by the person who claimed to love her the most. she turned cynical, uncaring about the lives of humans and even turned to killing them for money. humans are already killing themselves because of their stupidity and ignorance; what's a few more bodies in the body count anyways?

personality

she's an independent woman, only really out for herself. she's generally apathetic to things that don't involve her, and it takes her a while for her to warm up to people. she keeps to herself, and doesn't concern herself with her own mortality; as long as she's making money, the life her targets lead don't apply to her. she's often sarcastic and advocates for petty crime (sometimes as a joke).

she secretly hates what she's become. she hides her true self behind the bravdo, the self that is soft and kind and desires, more than anything, to be loved.

• her full title is annalise nicholson, the fallen, of the fifth pillar of heaven, but she doesn't use it anymore
• she has a pet rabit that she stole from a pet store that she genuinely treasures. his name is almond toffee and if anyone kills him, she'll kill everyone in the room and then herself /ref
• some of her scars are from sparring with trinity. others are from missions gone wrong. she can heal them, but she keeps them because she thinks they make her look cool
• she's an assassin who kills for a living. she does most of her work for the infernal elite, where they're much more accepting of those who needlessly kill for a living

• rabbits -- hers specifically but she thinks rabbits are god's gift to mankind
