Stardust

Stardust is a runaway prince. His mother had taken him in when she failed to have her own child, but the king didn't take kindly to a tiefling son. He hated the child, but his mother adored him, teaching him arts and showing him the beauty of the world. As he became of age to properly inherit the throne, the queen passed away, and the king introduced his new queen, along with his heir. Stardust made friends with the prince, and learned the truth. The king had been seeing the woman long before the queen had passed, and the new young prince was the child they had together. When Stardust tried to confront the king, he broke the tiefling's connected horns in two. Unable to take the pain and abuse any more, Stardust made plans to leave, but that night the young prince found him. They were each other's best friend, and stardust promised to return one day to help the kingdom, as long as he didn't let the king influence his kind views, and when his step brother agreed, he left.

He now tries to be better, to find his place, to find people who love him. He finds he can't trust people, fearing they'll hurt him or leave, or even that he might hurt them.
