Aeolus was born within the royal pride of the plains of Zirawe and was told from the start that he was to be the next king once his father passed... But he never wanted to be king. Most cubs of the royal pride were more than overjoyed to be king, but Aeolus had never thought the position was right for him. Once his coronation was ready to take place, he was pronounced king, only to pronounce another cub as king instead! The pride was not very happy with his decision, but he had promised to stay and remain king until the cub grew up and proved himself worthy. A few years later, that cub did. He proved to be strong and courageous with a big heart, a better king than Aeolus thought he'd ever be. Once the cub was a lion, Aeolus gave him the pride as his kingdom, but was later shunned and chased out by the other lionesses, who thought he was just being weak. He didn't put up a fuss and left, and now wanders the pride lands, along with the other various place around the pride lands, to this day. He only travels at night because of his darker mane, and tends to keep away from the royal pride. He does check up from time to time to see how his successor is doing, but otherwise keeps his distance.
