Peep

Limb replacement is a really common occurrence between people of his species.
Their planet is severely in decline, food is scares and harvesting and farmings is becoming less and less possible.

The star that kept their planet alive is slowly dying. Red, bright and hot, the once bright and happy planet is now little more than a gray rock.

Peep comes from a species of scavenger goblin like beings. 2 to 3 feet tall in height, they are born with non functional or sick eyes that they remove swiftly after birth. They don't need their eyes to see however as even without them they can all see the world around them, but only in black and white. Most of them explain it as 'their ancestors guiding them' but no other species can really say how is that they 'see without eyes'. Seeing colors to them is but a myth or the equivalent of an urban legend.

Because of the malnutrition they suffer, most kids have to have their limbs replaced with mechanical ones at a young age. When someones limbs are strong enough though, they keep them and this limbs are cherished greatly, even being passed down through one generation to another when the barer dies. This is possible for several reasons, the most important being that the whole species has only one blood type. They also assimilate replacement limbs rather quickly making it so that the healing process is less than a month for a natural one and less than two for a mechanical one.

His species also doesn't age as normal. Though they can die from sickness and many other things they don't have an 'old age' like other creatures do. This is also the reason why they can pass limbs down since the body part too doesn't age. The only known thing is that the more times the limb is passed down it starts to become darker and at some point it just stops being reatatchable. This normally happens 4 to 5 generations after the original barer.
