Profile

Finn Tackhammer was born the only son of a cobbler and his wife.  He led a fairly normal childhood among the forest gnomes, growing up healthy.  His mother was an adventurer and his father, Siobahn Tackhammer did his best to keep raising his son on his own.  He never tried to convince her to stay home, he knew she was happy roaming, but loved them both.  Letters and gifts arrived from time to time with stories for young Finn.  Siobahn never dated another, as his wife Gianna was his one true love.

Though his childhood had no real problems, Finn always felt out of place.  He never liked playing much with the other children, preferring to spend his time talking to the animals, hanging out with the young girl who worked at a nearby farm.  He felt more comfortable around her, as all the roughhousing and fight play the young male gnomes got into never suited him.  Being tackled, wrestling, fighting, and trying to hurt others made him uncomfortable.  Many things made young Finn uncomfortable, including his growing body.

He would often watch Amaliana, his friend and feel a small pang of envy, at her long hair, at her thinner frame.  This would confuse him and frustrate him to no end.  When he reached the age of 16 he and Amaliana tried dating, as they did have feelings between them.  However when they began to get intimate, Finn panicked, and pushed her away.  He loved her, and wanted to be with her, but the sensations of his own body’s arousal disgusted him.   He left her, apologizing, and running into the forest.
After many hours, of sitting in the forest and weeping, he heard a strange, tinkling noise.  He followed the sound and found a fairy circle of mushrooms.  Lying just outside the circle was a small winged pixie.  Speaking with her, he learned she had been wounded, and so using what nature lore he knew he gathered some plants, and used the tiny amount of magic he had to heal her.  She thanked him, as he gave her water from his own waterskin, and looked him over.
“You have a problem young one, one you do not understand, but I can help you to cure. For you kindness and aid I offer you a gift.”  she waved her hands and a small piece of stone appeared in it.  She offered the stone to Finn.  “Your body is not the right form,  but using this stone, to crush the proper plants can fix your body as it should be.  You will have to journey far and wide to gather these plants, as they change depending on the current moon.  It will take many years for your body to be correct, but you will be happy with the result, if you have the strength of will to commit.”
Finn burst into tears, took the small warm stone and thanked the fairy.    She ran home, told her father, who hugged her tight, very accepting of his daughter, and willing to help.

She spent the next few years working and saving her earnings.  Once she had enough she went into the woods to where an elder druid lived.  There she spent a few more years training in the ways of druidry, to help ensure her brewing of the proper ingredients.  She also learned some of the fae’s magic, which she was quick to learn.  There she earned the last name Oakclamber.

Flidais left her home, traveling for a few years on her own.  She spent much time in the wilderness gathering plants, communing with animals and just enjoying life.  She had a brief encounter one stormy night with a farmer’s daughter. Nothing more than hiding out from the storm in the barn.  The halfling girl was very enchanted by the small gnome, whose body was starting to appear much more feminine.  As she left the next morning, she did earn a kiss from the farm girl, which led to much blushing and hurrying away.

Unfortunately, one night while sleeping a bandit clan happened upon her camp, and feeling the need for a slave, they captured the poor girl.  Using a pair of magebinding manacles, they kept her unable to fight back.  They tortured, humiliated, and abused the small gnome, mocking her as a “freak.”  they never sexually abused her, but they did beat, mock and force her to cook and care for them.  They only chained her up if they left on a raid, preferring instead to use necromantic plant creatures to guard her, and beat her.  Among the bandits were a Bronze Dragonborn, who was fond of using his tail to whip her  He went by S’zzel.  There were other bandits who changed and fluctuated over time, none of them standing out or sticking around for long.  Then there was the worst of them.  An elf woman with the tip of her left ear cut off.  The elf woman only went by “Shifty”  as she was an expert in illusion and disguise.  Shifty was the defacto leader, and even the other bandits were afraid of her.

After many years of being their slave, but never fully giving up hope, they bandits left for a raid one day.  After several days passed and they didn’t return, Flidais began to worry.  She had been chained to a tree, but only had been left enough food and water for one day.  She hadn’t rationed it, but trying to move and get more would cause the golems to attack her.  Suddenly a man in plate armour stepped through the trees, slaying the creatures and freeing her.  He knew nothing of the bandits, but offered to take Flidais back to his temple in a nearby city, promising to heal her and help her recover.  She graciously accepted.

She spent nearly a year healing, and recovering mentally.  She finally felt ready to head back out into the world, to finish her quest to cure her body.  She wandered the town for a bit, and met some adventurers who were planning a caravan guarding mission.  When the subtle magic from her stone hinted that he next herbs were in the area they were heading, she joined up with them for travel.

With them she travelled  through a large open field, and helped defend the caravan when it was attacked by hags.  She was also able to collect some of the herbs she needed for her next dose of potion.  She made it to the next town with their help, where she parted ways with the group.  Not before the pretty tiefling lady, named Lonei teased her, and left her flustered.

Flidais travelled on her own for a few more years, before she came to a town holding a festival for the local church.  She visited the festival, having a great time.  While there she met a half-drow paladin named Talynrae.  Talynrae was the daughter of the local cleric, who the festival was in honour of.  She was feeling down because even with all her training she had never left home.  Both her fathers had been great adventurers, and wanted that.  Ever friendly, Flidais offered to let Talynrae travel with her.  That should give her plenty to see and explore.  Taly took her up on the offer, and they departed in a few days.

Taly and Flidais travelled for many years together, and over that time they fell in love.  Much to their parents delight they were married, and after a time they settled down into a small cottage in the woods.  There they grew vegetables, had a small altar, and lived very happy.  Taly still flirts and teases, turning poor Flidais into a blushy mess everytime.
